Purpose
Today, the coffee market in China is booming. In fact, the Chinese coffee consumption level is increasing at a rate of 25 to 30%, which is ten times more than the average world growth rate (Asian Development Bank, 2015). The purpose of this research is to identify the factors that have contributed to the increased coffee consumption in China. This paper will examine at this phenomenon by starting with a Chinese market overview, then this study will look at the cultural aspects that have contributed to increased coffee consumption and finally this thesis will conclude with a brief analysis of Nespresso’s case.
This paper will benefit readers by enhancing their understanding of how the shift in Chinese demographic is contributing to

In 2012 the middle class represented 25% of the population and it is expected that in 2030 it will account for more than half of the Chinese population. This new and growing part of the population is now looking for different things, they are now well educated, their salary will keep rising and they are highly influenced by the Western way of life (Fairbanks, John and Merle Goldman, 2002).
Furthermore, Grosse illustrates in his paper named The Challenges of Globalization for Emerging Market Firms (2003) that coffee in China is still a trend more than a habit, people drink it to feel good, but not out of need. To deal with this, companies are now integrating habits from abroad into Chinese culture for example Starbucks promotes relaxation, mediation and Chinese coffee grown in China to all be available in its

Statement of Ethical Issues
Research such as this, which involves human subjects and participants, often raises unique and complex ethical issues. Therefore, it is necessary to address these issues when deciding to conduct research. Some of the possible ethical issues that could arise from this research are:
• Informed consent: This requires the researcher to provide the interviewee/person taking the survey with various necessary information such as the purpose of the research, risk or benefits, the time requirements, contact information in case they have some further questions.
• Privacy/confidentiality: Since the research deals with individuals’ perceptions and views on the subject matter, it is necessary that their replies are confidential and do not harm them in any manner (personally or professionally).
• Voluntary participation: In order to get the best outcomes from a survey, it is necessary to ensure participants that their participation is voluntary. During the research, it will be ensured that no participants are coerced into
Measurers were taken to make sure the questioner asked what the evaluation set out to evaluate. c. How would you address ethical issues in your project? The Institutional Review Board (IRB) was given the opportunity to give independent and prospective review and approval prior to the study beginning. Participation was voluntary for the women applying for identification.
To select the sample for this study, data will be collected from two businesses; Alabama Power and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama. The surveys will include segments in which the participants were asked to give an account of their; workplace, supervisor-subordinate relationship, leadership, employee performance, and organizational performance at the workplace (Scheidt-Nave et al., 2012). The other possible data collection may come from Survey Monkey. The instruments used for this study will be the OPS (all 67 participants will evaluate the organization), 360-degree feedback (57 subordinates will evaluate their supervisors and 10 supervisors will evaluate their subordinates), and the GRS (10 supervisors will evaluate their subordinates and 57 subordinates will evaluate
Imagine your are an elderly couple and has a son/daughter that passed away due to illness,or in a disaster and with the One child policy what would you do? Well the One Child Policy was made to prevent more increase in population the policy was made in 1970 by the chinese governors to help balance the population. The One Child Policy was a bad idea for China for these three reasons Challenge for women,Neglection of the elder, and The policy was just not necessary. One reason that one child policy was a bad idea because it was challenging for women.[Anthropologist Vanessa] Fang argues that this generation of urban singleton girls have been empowered to challenge some of the gender norms that have been long dominated by the chinese life [Document D].Nonetheless an,April [2009] study published in British Medical Journal found china still has 32 million more boys than girls under the age 20.[Document E].
While coffee faced many objections, no one was able to stop its reign and popularity growth through the western world. Not King Charles II (who believed conspirators and traitors gathered in coffeehouses). Not the people who were prejudice to Arabic people (who feared coffee due to its close association with Arabians), Or even the Great Fire of London (which burned down most coffeehouses in London in
What China was trying to achieve with the One Child Policy was fix a problem they had caused in the first place, when, Mao Zedong, encouraged having more children to have more future workers, and discouraged the use of birth controls (Intro). The One Child Policy came into place in 1980, effected the ethnicity of Han Chinese and was definitely not one of China’s best ideas. It caused many hardships for the citizens of China. The policy was unnecessary for many of three reasons: the fertility rate was already dropping, there is a huge gender and age imbalance, as well as it is to blame for some of the youth’s social issues. From 1970 to 1979 there was a big reduction in fertility rates in China from 5.8 to 2.7, which was prior to the One
So, it is quite easy to see that the pattern of population dynamics or the makeup of populations based on age and size in China. Most young adults can be found in cities working to earn money for their young children and parents in suburbs and countrysides. Meanwhile, their
Review Questions 1. What is "standard of care"? Standard of care refers to the degree of care that a similar healthcare professional would apply under the same circumstances while taking into account any unexpected complications or conditions. To put it simply, if another healthcare professional with the same or similar training takes the same course of action as the healthcare professional at issue given the information known and the exact situation, the professional is seen as meeting the standard of care. 2.
• The accuracy of the information reported within the reports being used in the research study. • Recalling the incident for the victim can be very uncomfortable and upsetting. • There can also be limitations of some ethical obstacles for example if some cases are still open cases, information may not be able to be discussed. • With the survey sampling method, putting together a survey limits one from asking questions that normally may have been encountered in a one on one
When in the planning and preparation stages of a dissertation, doctoral students have many things to consider, such as how to choose a research topic, how to locate credible literature on the topic, how to collect the data, how to analyze the data, and how to present the findings in the most logical and articulate manner. Two things that are often overlooked are conducting ethical research and best practices in postsecondary research. In an effort to explore both of these concepts in detail, the following discussions will be broken into two parts. Part I will explore the concepts of ethical research involving human subjects, the Belmont Report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the American Educational Research Association
Based on our past history (e.g., the Tuskegee experiment) it is now crucial to apply confidentiality and informed consent in studies, especially human subjects. Therefore, harm can reduced as much as possible. I feel the past history is a lesson that social scientists should avoid in studies. All human subjects are required to understand the risk factors and procedures in a study they are participating in. If they require confidentiality, researchers should also agree.
An advantage of conducting a Survey is that it allows the researcher to collect a large amount of data over a short period of time. They can also be created and administered quickly and easily. A disadvantage of a Survey is that often times the answer choice on a survey may not reflect the participants true opinion. Case Study is a research method in which is single person is directly observed. This study is an open ended type of data collection.
Exam 2 Extra Credit The World Affairs video covers topics about the Chinese economy from Yukon Huang’s book Debunking Myths About China’s Economy. Huang begins by explaining that Americans often possess an inaccurate opinion of China. Many believe that the United States invests too much into the Chinese economy which is leading to job loss and the degradation of our country’s image. When asked which country the world’s economic leader is, most Americans believe it is China. On the other hand, most Chinese believe it is the United States.
It is no exaggeration to say that Starbucks has brought American coffee’s ubiquity and defined the American coffee value. In this case, I will analyse Starbucks’ globalization and how it adapt to other areas as a model of American coffee

China China is currently a highly developing nation, the technological advantages and novelties of the Chinese impact the whole globe. It population structure is similar to level 3 demographic transition, although the birth rate is decreasing due to the incentive of the government who had implied the one-child policy. The nation is strong and has a large workforce, even though the poverty in rural areas is still quite high the government is constantly fitting the issues with both poverty and overpopulation. The amount of youthful population doesn’t allow to observe a decline in population in China in 2016, although it is predicted that after 2030 the population of China will start to decline unless the one-child policy is cancelled.
