Police believes they don’t have to respect people of color ,and think it 's okay to mistreat them instead. The officers been discriminating people of color because they assume every african american are criminal and bad. They harass people of color just to make them feel intimidate. The police kill innocent black people and don 't get charged guilty at all. There’s three side of people which is the people who get affected by it, the people who overlooks it, and the people who just don 't care.
Drug dealing, theft, and poverty are the main topics in Tupac 's music referring to rough neighborhoods that give little to no opportunities to improve quality of
For society, the struggle between their aspirations to be moral and just and the greater, more abstract moral cost they pay every time they condone a state-sanctioned murder is a never ending battle. No one wishes to be the person who “heard her cries for help but did nothing while an attacker stabbed her to death”, no one wants that on their conscience (Bruck 581). In order to compensate for this occurrence, they try to reconcile themselves by exerting the harshest punishment known upon the perpetrator while distancing themselves from the person. With this first instinct of “an eye for an eye”, capital punishment made its debut with the thought “the advantages, moral or material, outweigh [the cost]” (DMW, VDH 2). In the film, Prejean battles this preconception with the claim that the moral cost society pays far outweighs any benefits it poses.
I think that Colin Kaepernick was wrong to not stand for the national anthem. I understand where he is coming from about African Americans being sometimes oppressed, but I believe it was extremely disrespectful to the men and women who defend our country. He also has made kneeling for the anthem a movement and many more athletes are doing it. Drew Brees is correct when saying that Kaepernick has insulted a "sacred" flag. I believe there is a time and a place where you can express your feelings, however during the national anthem before a game is not the right time nor place to do so.
Hodgman by Frontline, he brought up how the jury was prejudiced against the LAPD and that is why justice did not prevail in Simpson’s case. Instead of the jury objectively examining the evidence for and against Simpson, they had an ulterior motive. They wanted revenge for the LAPD’s actions against Rodney King and for that they were willing to let a guilty man walk. This is the reason why I asserted that race could provoke intense emotions for many people. People in general will side with the race they belong to and would defend their own people against outsiders.
Are peoples’ opinions that you disagree with not allowed? This question has been heavily put to the test as football players have been swarmed with abhorrence. This anger has been brought to them through the protest that they have acted with, not standing or kneeling during the national anthem, in the past few years. Football players should be protected by the first amendment of the constitution, which is for free speech and protest. Football players should not be punished for their opinion and issue in which they protest in the United States because it brings awareness to society issues, use social status, and even though people disagree that the protest should not happen during the National Anthem.
Kneeling can cause an unnecessary distraction to their team and can make the fans stop watching the games. Another football player, Malcolm Jenkins said, “So me not standing for the national anthem isn 't really going got get me the results that I want.” (Doc 5). Jenkins is saying that he supports the message, but believes it can be done in a different way. Drew Brees said, “It’s an oxymoron that you’re sitting down, disrespecting that flag that has given you the freedom to speak out.”
By first amendment rights, you can protest however you like, but it should not be on the job. You could lose your job, cause problems for your company, or league, and create an uproar with your clients, or viewers. The NFL is now seen as a football league that allows its players to protest our country on the job. Many Americans are very upset with the protesting because of it’s disrespect, and most people will not single out the players. They will look at the team, or the league, as a whole to blame for the protesting.
This shows that the owner’s mean business about the players kneeling during the National Anthem. These players need to show respect to the National Anthem because are troops are fighting for this flag and our country. And if they don’t the NFL might start to fall. Football players should not be kneeling during the National Anthem. The players that kneel should be suspended or kicked from the team or some type of punishment.
Defenseless individuals shot and killed by police officer’s savagery methods of restraining, attempting to bring justice into their own hands in the wrong manner. Police brutality creates nothing more than fear to citizens that should feel protected by their authorities. The excessive violence used by police officers towards citizens results in the deaths of many, which is known as police brutality, and it has left the African American community raving with anger .The atrocity acts of authority figures have caused many unfortunate situations, and outcomes, such as the deaths of innocent black individuals. Police brutality is caused by assumptions of appearances, racism, and stereotypes and results in death, riots, protests, and falsely indicting people.
Bob Ewell is an example of following the crowd, meaning he knew the truth but preferred to have a innocent man killed because of the color of his skin. Mr.Ewell states “ I seen that black nigger yonder ruttin’ on my Mayella”(Lee 231)! Almost the whole town believes that he is guilty just because he’s black. Mr.Ewell has now brought more attention to his color and is going with the crowd. Today following the crowd still exist but is under a new name called peer pressure.
Now, one might argue that because of the fact that the NFL ignored the fact that concussions were an issue that they have no right to continue operating. However, that was the mistake of Tagliabue, a former commissioner. Robert Goodell, the current commissioner, has actually put forward a conscious effort to, among other things, protect the livelihood of the players. Opponents to the NFL may also argue that it took an external force to bring light to the situation; however it is very likely that eventually an internal case would have been undertaken, and the same results would have been found, equally unbiased. Finally, critics on the handling of the issue may claim that concussions are still very much a threat in the NFL.
There’s a lot going on about the world and how cops use excessive force when it comes to taking down the bad guy. This topic focuses on the black lives matter movement because they are letting cops get away with murder because the color of their skin and they wear a blue uniform with a badge. In many cases such as Michael Brown, Christian Thomas, and the little African American who the cop threw out the chair in SC. where the authority use excessive force to make their position clear in the society, but they do it too extreme and not needed. While sometime the amount of force is needed to withstand the victim , police abuse their authority in many cases because they can and is not needed but racial bias is playing a part.
Black men are getting killed by law enforcement and we exchange our justice with suspensions and discharge. Where is the equality ? For sure if I was white I wouldn’t feel threatened to today’s dangers of walking down the street. I feel worrisome with the sight of police even if I am certain I have done no crime. This feeling was not imprinted in my mind during birth.
In my opinion this aspect separates him from revolutionists. Like Gandhi, he showed the world that peace is the only way to compromise. Violence works for short term it is not a permanent solution. Breaking down prejudices against black people was not easy to accomplish. We must bear in mind that violence was used during the protests and it was normal for cops to kill black people on streets.
