The very essence of a earning a computer science in the country that I have grown to admire, has led me down the unbeaten path of studying at IDC Herziliya. I grew up in an environment where religion is paramount, while secular study took an equally important role. However, the nature of my community in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Is to go on to a yeshiva in Israel. I however, have decided that studying in Israel fulfills my religious prospect, while also earning a degree in a study I have grown to love since the beginning of my junior year. Of my dozen visits Israel, I have found a genuine admiration of the culture and areas that I have sojourned. Of course I enjoy walking in the sandy shores that Tel Aviv offers, however, that is not the reason I want to study in Israel. Rather, the people and culture of Tel Aviv and the innovation that spawns in the land convince me that I have as much opportunity in Israel, as I do in the US. The high volume of start ups in Israel has earned Israel the name "start up nation." When I earn my computer science degree from IDC, I might take on the task that many IDC alumni have; starting a company of my own. …show more content…
Having attended a Yeshiva High School, I have seen Israel mostly through religious study. I've learned that God promised Abraham the land, and that it is a holy land. However, even though I have traveled to Israel many times by myself, living in Israel would give me the ability to be involved in secular society, in the Jewish homeland. I want to experience Israel not as a religious tourist, but as a resident. Now, I do not mean I will automatically make Aliyah, rather I will discover the secular Israeli lifestyle, taking into account the religious importance of living in
However, upon more research, I found that The University of Oklahoma’s Price College of Business Center for Entrepreneurship, representing my major of choice, while a top-ranked program seems to not be maintaining its advertised position. It has leveled off in performance while other university’s entrepreneurship programs are surpassing it. One of the top programs of the Price Business College that pilots the success of the Center for Entrepreneurship is the Integrated Business Core program, a practicum provided by the Price College of Business that specifically appeals to individuals studying entrepreneurship. I believe that the Center for Entrepreneurship is falling behind, but can catch back up with a revitalization of the Integrated Business Core program. By examining the evidence of this proposed decline and examining the state of the Integrated Business Core program, I am going to introduce a possible concept that could be used to halt this decline and breath new life into the Price College of Business Integrated Business Core and the Center for
Four years ago, I left the shores of Nigeria to pursue a higher education at the University of Ottawa. I know most people when they are younger are not sure of what career path to follow, ye I always knew I wanted to be a lawyer. Ever since I could remember, I have always felt deep compassion towards other human beings. It is disappointing to watch people lose their basic human rights. My program has educated me and changed my worldly views.
The dream of going to college has been present since I remember. However, I lived in a low income household in Spain, and at that time my family was going through a great depression, lack of financial stability, and my parent’s relationship was not at its best; consequently, the idea of having another expense was not a priority for the family, needless to say that college was not an option. Nevertheless, life has given me the opportunity to review my priorities, make new choices and as a result, I decided to pursue a higher education. I became a displaced homemaker after my divorce in 2008 in Washington State, when I decided to move away and start a new life in Colorado. We were only us, my daughter and me.
When I was younger, one of my favorite things to do was to hop in my grandpa’s old, red Chevy pickup and ride down to our family’s farm with him. We would spend all day doing various jobs including scouting crops. Each summer I would spend more time scouting crops with my grandpa. He would share stories about particular growing seasons that he remembered and he shared a vast amount of agronomic knowledge with me. Over time, scouting with my grandpa turned into a passion.
When I enrolled into University of Connecticut in 2009, I was living my life conforming to other people's goals and not my own. Life purpose and life intentions are rich and valuable. It can also be helpful in aiding us to move through the challenges life brings us. Self-discovery is an evolving process. Sometimes you have to take a detour in life.
Malcolm X once said that "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today". Education will always be the reason why the future continues to extend itself. The Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) Academy that I am enrolled in has taught me that all four aspects play a role on many levels of society and have a tremendous impact on the future. With influence from the academy, I have the goal to work for National Aeronautics and Space Administration, famously known as NASA. In order to work for NASA, I have to take small steps to achieve my goal.

I come from the lower social class and whose family is from a low-income household. My parent’s highest education is high school; therefore, they do not have a career. My father works at a grocery store and my mother cleans houses. When I was a child, my father was the primary breadwinner; therefore, my family did not have a lot of money to spend. Moreover, growing up in a low-income household affected me as a child because I did not have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities from private institutions that taught ballet, karate, and art because my parents could not afford them.
In the Fall of 2017, I will be attending the University of Idaho. When deciding on schools, I had several characteristics in mind: affordable, close to home, beautiful, and friendly. When visiting the college in October, I experienced each of the aspects in a huge way. The tuition is one of the lowest I have seen, it is less than a two hour drive from home, the scenery is breathtaking, and every person that I encountered was super friendly and gave my mom and me a warm welcome. At this point in my decision process, I believe that I will be attending the University of Idaho for a full three years without transferring to another school.
Knowledge is the power that lets you know the world you already are exposed to in a new light. I believe, the more you know the better you are as an individual and as well as a society. Along with that it is also really important to know the right thing from the right people. Today, the right kind of education is the driving force of the future, both individually and collectively. This certainly makes me believe that it is quintessential for me to have an education from a university that will add credits and also make me a better person and help me serve the society in a much better way.
Attaining a higher education as a student that comes from a low-income family has been one of my greatest achievements as an individual. I am a first-year student as well as first generation in my family to go to college. Where I grew up opportunities of studying abroad is merely unheard of. Harlingen, Texas is where I have lived my entire life and is today considered the poorest city in the nation. On many occasions we are predominantly Latino and don’t come from much.
Please discuss your interest in science and mathematics. * My fascination with science and mathematics began at a very young age. In elementary school, I was already taking accelerated math classes as well as participating in science quest, an after-school club. With science, I have the option to explore the unknown and satisfy my curiosity of the world around us.
I come from a family of six. In total we’re three sisters and a brother, and then of course, my parents. I truly respect my parents for providing us with everything we needed like support, praise for our achievements no matter how small, and encouragement to pursue activities. It was because of them and my older siblings that I became proud of reading books for fun, writing for myself, and drawing to express my ideas. My hobbies became my strength for projects.
(Birthrightisrael, n.d.) The program’s main purpose is to organize an educational trip for Jewish young adults aged between 18 and 26. Moreover the project wants to provide a remarkable experience to many young Jewish people who had never been to this country before. Though this is an educational program, participant won’t be
I completed my high school in Jordan, I like business and I started my bachelor in Philadelphia University in accounting and I graduated after three years and half in 2012. I am pretty curious and I believe in myself ‘’ Knowledge is Power’’ that push me to improve myself and my skills, after I worked two month in a factory in Jordan as an accountant. I
