As a recent graduate of Bethel University’s College of Professional Studies, I have dreams of giving back with a Master’s degree in Business Administration. The guidance I received through the many great facilitators allowed me to grow, not only personally but professionally as well. I never dreamed that I would one day complete my college degree but with encouragement from my family and co-workers, that dream became a reality. Holding a full-time job and raising a family, Bethel’s online platform was the perfect fit for me. Being able to complete one class at a time was the exact pace I needed to be successful without the worry of having assignments due in many different classes at the same time. Recently graduating with a Bachelors degree …show more content…
Writing and communication development is an aspect that Bethel University strives to focus on and work to change for both the learner and the professional. I feel that it is my duty to assist today’s adult learner in growing their academic and professional careers through higher education. I have great plans for my future, which include continuing my career in the field of academia. With the skills and knowledge I will acquire through the Master’s program, I will be able to assist the University in meeting their mission to create opportunities for members of the learning community to develop their highest potential. I plan to further assist future learners in their educational goals and become an online facilitator for future students. When I chose my undergraduate major, I chose organizational leadership because it was practical for the field I was currently employed. Now that I have more career experience in business, I am ready to continue my education in a field that I have grown to love and admire. I am looking forward to following this passion and developing a more robust understanding of business
I choose to pursue a doctoral degree at Walden to further my knowledge in the business world (Beno, 2016). The pursuit of a doctoral degree would benefit my personal assessment, growth, and future business success (Basar, Altinay, Dagli, & Altinay, 2016). My Professional Development Plan will allow me to reach out and assist society with my business knowledge for change (Barker, 2014, p. 10).
North.session1.reflection I attempted taking business coarsest at a online secular college while trying to be a team owner operator with my husband hauling oversized Frieght with my husband. That seemed to me at the time like it would be a piece of cake. Well between just not having the available required free time, and having the steady required internet connection, I had way too many other demands and distractions, and I was bottom line, spreading myself too thin and shorting myself the necessary time to really study and apply myself as much as I thought I would be able to, which in turn, became extremely overwhelming and discouraging. To top it all off, my mother and my husband’s both, health took a turn for the worst which added to my responsibilities, as well as
Therefore, developing my proficiency in these areas would help develop my leadership, management, and administration competency. Completing this program is a great way to develop in these areas because I am finding it really enlightening to engage with the perspectives from my peers and learn from their experiences that they share in discussions. Most of my classmates are further in their careers than myself, so their contributions allow me to consider higher education and leadership in a way that is different than what I am familiar with because I do not have much experience in roles where divisional strategy, organizational structures, or other “big picture thinking” items are
Every day, multitudes of things are competing for our attention. Billboards line every street, commercials interrupt every enticing program, and our phones are constantly beckoning us to check them. And no, this is not the beginning of another trite piece of literature that is going to complain about how the growth of advertising and technological innovation is the decline of the human race. In fact, I embrace it. The world is changing, and with so much to be involved in, competition for our attention is healthy and necessary to keep things that we want to see accessible.
Four years ago, I left the shores of Nigeria to pursue a higher education at the University of Ottawa. I know most people when they are younger are not sure of what career path to follow, ye I always knew I wanted to be a lawyer. Ever since I could remember, I have always felt deep compassion towards other human beings. It is disappointing to watch people lose their basic human rights. My program has educated me and changed my worldly views.
The University of Pennsylvania promotes this wondrous idea that students should be free to explore, and in the process innovate something amazing. Simply the thought of unrestrained inquiry titillates my expansive curiosity. Just as Magellan, Cabot, and famed explorers of the new world had been fascinated by knowledge beyond their boundaries, I am a conquistador. But rather than pursuing the riches of the Fountain of Youth, I seek the treasures of fruitful study and intellectual endeavors.
Malcolm X once said that "Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today". Education will always be the reason why the future continues to extend itself. The Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) Academy that I am enrolled in has taught me that all four aspects play a role on many levels of society and have a tremendous impact on the future. With influence from the academy, I have the goal to work for National Aeronautics and Space Administration, famously known as NASA. In order to work for NASA, I have to take small steps to achieve my goal.
When I first came to the United State, I did not speak any English, but I had the desire to continue my education and to learn English. Growing up as a child, I only had one dream to become a chemical engineer. However, there have been many different challenges have been part of my journey. I remember starting school when I first came to the United States, at a local community center. Young and dedicated, I decided for the first six months that I would not speak any of my native languages and only focus on English.
Ever since I was seven, it has been my goal to attend college; now that goal will come true in only a few months at the University of Tulsa. While I did not know what I wanted to study then, I developed a passionate curiosity that has allowed me to succeed in school because it gave me a love for learning that continues today. Since then, I have become a dedicated student who is still constantly questioning everything, which has encouraged me to pursue a career as a neuroscientist. My career goal is to get a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry with a minor in neuroscience from the University of Tulsa and then to earn a Ph.D. in neuroscience to conduct research.
My desire to pursue an administration degree stems from my original call to the educational field. From a young age, I knew I loved the atmosphere of the classroom. However, it was not until high school that I truly got to spread my wings on an educational plane. Through organizations such as Key Club and National Honor Society, I was able to work with different community outreach programs and teach and assist at the Union Mission New Life Camp and be a teacher’s aid during College for Kids and Dyersburg Primary School.
My whole life I lived in the suburbs and went to a small elementary and high school. When I had the opportunity to get away from all the same people I have been seeing for the past few years, I took it. At the age of 15, I was seeing my doctor, social worker, and psychologist regularly and was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, combined with Major Depressive Disorder and Generalized Anxiety. My entire high school life I dealt with mental illness so when it came to the day where I had to apply for the program of my choice, I choose the Psychology profile in the social sciences.

This degree also has an increase at a rate fast then all other occupation and helps you have a solid outlook. One of the things I feel I will have to work on before I graduate will be to being in a strong, healthy and leadership role. It will get some use to being in this role but I know I will do it to my best ability. Some of the skills and behavior traits I feel would be administration, management, law, economics and policies and to learn how to obtain them very well to my best
That is why I pursued an education in business at Everett Community College my junior year as a Running Start student. Immediately, I knew that the college environment was the change I needed. I became extremely passionate about what I studied and frequently received positive feedback from my professors and peers. Eventually, I found my place in Phi Theta Kappa honor society with an above average GPA and strong desire to share my experiences. I planned my future with a clear purpose: to honor my family as the fourth generation to pursue a career in business at the Boeing Company.
My motivation behind pursuing a business degree from the Wisconsin BBA program stems from my desire to pursue a career in Marketing and Human Resource Management. I aspire to pursue a position that supports the education and empowerment of youth potentially in a non-profit. Specifically, I pursued the Wisconsin BBA program because of its great reputation and the diverse and extensive opportunities the program offers. My “why” at its core has not changed but rather evolved throughout my first semester in the Wisconsin BBA Program.
