There are many attributes that I could bring to the UW Platteville campus. To start, I am a Christian and I put my faith and my family above everything else. This means that I also uphold the morals and standards set by my faith and family. I love my family and both my parents and my siblings have helped me grow tremendously. I have four siblings ranging from four to fifteen and helping them grow up has also helped me to mature as well.
I also do my best in everything that I do. I try my hardest in school and I have many awards and achievements from my hard work that I am very proud to have. My favorite subjects are science and math because I love the problem solving and the thought that has to be put into the questions. An example of a component of math class that makes me enjoy it so much is having the satisfaction of proving a complex mathematical statement or understanding the complexity of the trigonometric identities and how they are developed.
I also have a deep love for science. Throughout high school I have taken the advanced science courses and, after understanding the complicated material, I have excelled in my grades of the

My two recent science teachers, Mr. Johnson and Mr. Lawry, have been very influential and very helpful in developing my love for science. Mr. Johnson was my first high school science teacher and he had actually taught science in college before teaching at my school. He devoted much of his life to science and soon after I got to know him, he encouraged me to pursue science as well. It didn’t take me long to appreciate science as much as he did, and before I knew it I spent all of my free time, both in and out of school, with him. Mr. Johnson was the first person to teach me to use a soldering iron and he helped me to disassemble almost anything I could find. Once apart, he would show me how it worked and how the circuits functioned together to make the device
As a middle school student I was always horrible in math. It truly was my worst subject. Lucky enough for me I was able to pass with the lowest scores possible. As I graduated and entered high school, I realized that it was no longer that easy to pass without knowing the material. So because of this I knew I had to study and take time out to really grasp the methods and learn how to use them.
I like Math class because it's all makes sense to me and has things to back it up, while other classes sometimes just wiz right by me and I get confused. I do marching band and I play the trombone. My older brother is a senior and he is also in band and he plays the saxophone.
As a child I always desired to study math and science. There is just something about solving problems, and finding solutions that catches my attention. Learning about the world, and how it function is very interesting to me. These subjects have help keep me wondering what I could learn next, and the reason being that I am a scholar in my classes. One accomplishment that I am proud of is being on the A&B honor roll.
While still in high school, my favorite subjects were always creative or hands on. My favorite class was ceramics. I enjoyed it because it gave me an opprutunity to do something thoughtful,
Every day, multitudes of things are competing for our attention. Billboards line every street, commercials interrupt every enticing program, and our phones are constantly beckoning us to check them. And no, this is not the beginning of another trite piece of literature that is going to complain about how the growth of advertising and technological innovation is the decline of the human race. In fact, I embrace it. The world is changing, and with so much to be involved in, competition for our attention is healthy and necessary to keep things that we want to see accessible.
Beyond math and science, there are a few other hobbies I have. I am particularly musical; playing instruments and singing have been a piece of my life since I was small. In the time following when I started drawing a few years ago, I have improved rapidly. Currently in drama, I am the assistant director of the class play. As a person in that position, I have become more sociable and confident.
My love of math comes from the challenging equations. I enjoy a challenge and for me, math can be challenging. At times, I may come off as an awkward person but in reality, I do not know what to say, most of the times. My mind goes everywhere and I can get easily distracted. I am a friendly and compassionate person.
Beginning from a young age, I have always loved math and science classes. I always wanted to learn more about the subject and not only learn what happens but also why it happens. It is this mentality that made me decide on majoring in a science (either physics or
The subject I have excelled was Algebra 1 during my freshman year in high school. When I first got into the class I knew what the teacher was teaching and I did not struggle in the class while some of my class mates were. Algebra was the easiest class I ever had because I knew all of the topics back from middle school. My middle school teacher helped me understand what Algebra was and how to solve equations and many other things that deals with the subject.
One thing I know that sets me apart from other candidates applying to the University of California is that my actions have always been the way I express who I am. Many people feel they have to go over and under to explain to people how they are as a person. Yet, I don’t seek to be understood, I allow my actions to tell who I am. I have never had to explain to anyone how kind or determined I am. I show them by smiling in the halls and saying goodmorning, opening the doors for people walking by.
As I approach my first year anniversary of graduating college and entering the work force I can't help but reflect on what skills and experiences have helped shape the starting path of my career. One of the major influences in how I work and think goes back to my time working at a small marketing agency and getting hands on experience within the digital realm of marketing and social media. The way of thinking and approaching any job or business goal has been vital in understanding how business works and the how everything you create as content or a product needs to be marketable. As many fellow graduating college students prepare to take the leap this May I can't help but stress that EVERY millennial needs to learn or understand the basic
The journey to Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne was definitely not straight forward. As my senior year in high school commenced about a year ago I was sure IPFW was not where I would end up. I had arranged a plan and was set on pursuing it, but one thing life has taught me is that things don’t always go the way you expect. That is what eventually turned my path around to IPFW—the unexpected. Now that I made it here I am more ready than ever to start chasing after my dreams and accomplishing my goals.
In the Fall of 2017, I will be attending the University of Idaho. When deciding on schools, I had several characteristics in mind: affordable, close to home, beautiful, and friendly. When visiting the college in October, I experienced each of the aspects in a huge way. The tuition is one of the lowest I have seen, it is less than a two hour drive from home, the scenery is breathtaking, and every person that I encountered was super friendly and gave my mom and me a warm welcome. At this point in my decision process, I believe that I will be attending the University of Idaho for a full three years without transferring to another school.
Dear Committee, After hours of rumination and retrospection, I wholly understand the reasons for my rejection to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I fear that I did not show myself as the wholesome and capable applicant I am; the type of student that Madison looks for in its prospective students. Though my odds are slim, I am writing this letter because I cannot let the school I hold with such reverence dismiss me without exhausting the admissions process one last time. It is with the utmost admiration and sincerity that I write this letter asking you to reconsider my admissions decision. Having grown up with family at the University, I got an early taste of the only college that could fulfill and complement my extensive future plans.
Ever since elementary school, I have excelled in both my science and math classes. I never really had any trouble understanding mathematics; I just imagined the problems in my head and solved them. In fact, I was so good at it, I was hired as a tutor for students who did not perform well in their mathematics courses. My school saw my talent and passion for mathematics and I was given the honor of representing my school for the district math competition every year. Math came naturally for me, so I did not feel the need to study for the subject at all.
