Art is an incredibly versatile tool that can be useful to all other fields, without it, we wouldn't be the technologically and scientifically advanced society that we are. It has helped explore and depict the human body, and better understand the human mind through observing the way we use and interpret art pieces, therefore contributing greatly to biology and psychology. It is also to artists creative minds and keen understanding of space that we owe our most impressive architectural structures along with our first maps and depictions of our world, important contributions to geography, history and sociology. Most importantly, visual arts are also necessary and present in all cultures to express and share our different visions of this world, …show more content…
From cinema to sculpture, school has given me a taste of all the fields and this has given me a diversified set of skills and helped me be a lot more creative and resourceful when faced with new mediums and techniques. Pursuing higher education at University would be a great way to challenge and improve my skills by further exploring different techniques and forms of art. I have already made a lot of progress fallowing my classes in college, but I think I could still greatly benefit from the experience and advice of your …show more content…
For this, I think it is important for artists to explore and better understand other countries values and habits so they can better represent their time and speak for all. An English speaking country seemed a good start since more and more people are studying and speaking it, furthermore erasing language boundaries, just as art does. The united kingdom is also a very culturally diversified country, allowed me to explore not only welsh,
Every day, multitudes of things are competing for our attention. Billboards line every street, commercials interrupt every enticing program, and our phones are constantly beckoning us to check them. And no, this is not the beginning of another trite piece of literature that is going to complain about how the growth of advertising and technological innovation is the decline of the human race. In fact, I embrace it. The world is changing, and with so much to be involved in, competition for our attention is healthy and necessary to keep things that we want to see accessible.
Four years ago, I left the shores of Nigeria to pursue a higher education at the University of Ottawa. I know most people when they are younger are not sure of what career path to follow, ye I always knew I wanted to be a lawyer. Ever since I could remember, I have always felt deep compassion towards other human beings. It is disappointing to watch people lose their basic human rights. My program has educated me and changed my worldly views.
When I was younger, one of my favorite things to do was to hop in my grandpa’s old, red Chevy pickup and ride down to our family’s farm with him. We would spend all day doing various jobs including scouting crops. Each summer I would spend more time scouting crops with my grandpa. He would share stories about particular growing seasons that he remembered and he shared a vast amount of agronomic knowledge with me. Over time, scouting with my grandpa turned into a passion.
My Academics at Oberlin: I am attracted to Oberlin as it has a strong Mathematical Economics Concentration program. At Oberlin, I am considering to explore the intersections of Economics and Mathematics. That said, the classes I am going to take will not be limited to only these areas. In addition to economics and programming, I would like to explore other subjects as well. I don’t want to lose sight of all the other things that will make me a well-rounded individual.
Art such as paintings and drawings have brought some of the most beautiful sights the world has ever seen. Without it this world would just be a dull and gray earth. Those who could not speak their thoughts or emotions, turned to art and changed the world. Art from around the world has been seen influencing people and the way they choose to mold their lives. The very desire for art has been seen throughout history to change major events.
Please discuss your interest in science and mathematics. * My fascination with science and mathematics began at a very young age. In elementary school, I was already taking accelerated math classes as well as participating in science quest, an after-school club. With science, I have the option to explore the unknown and satisfy my curiosity of the world around us.
Humans understand that art is power, and art is everything in their daily lives. It is impossible to live the way society does without artists, which is why I want to be one. Artists can change the world. My time at The New School would develop my skills to the highest degree that is allowed, and I knew this once I entered the realm of Parsons School of Design. I subconsciously became aware that the people surrounding me knew the fact stated before: that art is truly everything.
I come from a family of six. In total we’re three sisters and a brother, and then of course, my parents. I truly respect my parents for providing us with everything we needed like support, praise for our achievements no matter how small, and encouragement to pursue activities. It was because of them and my older siblings that I became proud of reading books for fun, writing for myself, and drawing to express my ideas. My hobbies became my strength for projects.
I often sit and contemplate, what would the world be like without the computers. Today, every facet of our life is around the computer; from the way we communicate; deal with business; govern a country; to even how we learn. It’s a fact that the computers and other devices associated with it are becoming more intuitive, as well as connected. As you know the future is bright for network engineers with the invention of quantum computers a whole new network infrastructure is required for them to communicate.
Efficiency is minimizing waste and maximizing benefit. I chose to pursue a degree in industrial and systems engineering because I enjoy the challenge of planning things within certain constraints, in the most efficient way possible. When I first began my undergraduate studies, however, I wanted to pursue a degree in the biosciences. From where I began to where I am now is a journey in itself, but I have found a field of study that I love and I'm excited for the future it holds for me.
Curiosity has always driven me towards new experiences. Early in my high school years i discovered a personal truth. I have no limitations other than those i choose to impose upon myself. I’ve always wanted to go to college, it’s been my dream ever since i was young, not only to obtain a higher education, but also to motivate others to keep moving forward. As i grew older i realized that in order to make my dreams come true i would have to make sacrifices and take risks.
Art has the ability to heal and be a place of comfort when needed. It can be a sense of unity by bringing families, communities, and even different parts of the geographic worlds together. Although there is history, without art society wouldn’t be able to understand the lives of older ancestors. Art is the physical
‘Learning is a process that begins in the cradle and ends in the grave’ I believe in these quotes which remind and motivate me to strive hard to learn more each day of my life, to expand the horizons of my knowledge with each passing moment. The constant development and improvisation of innovative technologies has led to the erosion of the older versions of technologies. I want to learn and satiate my never-ending curiosity in computers and make the best use of the latest technologies. This calls for a higher level of knowledge, capacity and expertise to research extensively.
NSCS could help me in some of the major issues I face in college. To start with, I'm an international student and it is difficult paying my tuition and fees. My country, Nigeria, is going through some social and economic hardships. This affects the exchange rate in the country's currency to dollars. The rate is a huge difference and I can not cope with it since it is my parents sponsoring my education.
" Education is not preparation for life;education is life itself." -John Dewey I have always felt integrated in my love for education. Discrimination never stole from what felt like an intellectual thirst I could not quench. Attending college had been a goal of mine since I was young, conceived from the curiosity of the world I could not touch with my hands.
