Winning the NCAA games and winning the tournaments have been a major part for plenty of colleges. From colleges like Duke to Florida State, there are hundreds of NCAA basketball teams out there with players that have certain talents and skills in an assortment of areas. But are skills and talents in basketball what really matters to the colleges and to the community of the NCAA? There were numerous moments when it really mattered, but not all moments mattered. Making it into the NCAA college basketball teams is a difficult commission and many high school basketball athletes have tried to accomplish that task.
I was exceedingly diffident and taciturn before I began playing basketball. No matter what kind of questions people asked me back then, I would always respond with, “I don’t know,” because I was too timid to speak up. Moreover, basketball taught me that if I try my best, my efforts will pay off. I learned that this lesson does not only apply to basketball, but also to all areas of my life. If I could go back to the past, I would definitely make the same commitments to
Paul George is an elite basketball player in the NBA, and he is one of the best players in the NBA today. He has won many awards and has been to many prestigious events where all the best players go and face off. He has a very important family and they all know how to cheer him up when he is down. He has faced many challenges in his life to get to where he is and no one has came in the way of what he achieved making it in the NBA. Many talk bad about him but the those are the people that don’t watch him or just like another player that he’s better than.
Even he didn’t win unanimous due to the fact that he was surrounded by great players that were worthy of winning the MVP. Furthermore, many players are being drafted at very young age in modern NBA. Players are being drafted at the age of 19 - 20 years old and have very little experience at the college level of basketball. When they join the NBA, they are not prepared to play at the high level. Sure, these players can improve in a couple of years but when you draft someone, you want them be good now, not in the next four years.
We were winning so big, and I thought it was a great game. When I looked around the locker room and saw everyone’s faces, I felt selfish. I had only been thinking about myself and this game being my last. I had not thought about my other teammates who also were playing their last high school basketball game. My coach told me to pass the ball to my teammates, even though I was scoring a ton of points.
After playing a tough semifinal they were able to qualify against an amazing team, who consisted of a player almost as talented as CJ and he came in 6’10”. The game had been fast paced. The crowd was in awe as they witnesses two of the best players in the state play an astounding game of basketball. They maintained a tied game until the last few minutes where the game would depend on whoever held position of the ball at the end, it was that close. Only eight seconds before the timer went out the opposing team managed to put in a three- point shot.
They said he was too skinny and he was too fragile. So Kobe set out to prove everyone wrong. His freshman year his team went 4-20, but even then you could see Kobe’s love for the game and all of his potential. His Junior year Kobe led his team to the district championship game against their rival. Sadly they could not come out with a win.
Literally, my poem describes my basketball career, with the main focus on varsity basketball and my experience at the Big 8 tournament, and how it relates to the common exercise motto: “No pain, no gain”. This then can be interpreted as to demonstrating how reaching a goal or gaining recognition involves great amounts of hard work and strong perseverance. In addition, it argues that pain and suffering is part of the “formula” for success. Some literary devices present in the poem are alliteration, hyperboles, asyndeton, similes, and imagery. Firstly, alliteration can be found in passages such as “training tirelessly or “hundreds of hours”, also a hyperbole.
The trial is for everyone and all the people who like to play basketball could join. I know there are no chance for me to get in the team but I still want to try it. I tried my best to achieve the goal that it is close to impossible for me to reach. I never regard about trying it because I learn more during the process. I learn
The Speech felt like all the knowledge of basketball was flowing through my mind at that very moment. I remember his exact words, “This team hasn't worked as hard as us, they haven't come as far as us, and they certainly don't deserve this trophy more than us.” That speech flow like the ocean's wave on a warm morning in Hawaii. Coach Luke had always been that coach that expects the best from you and well that actually paid off for him sometimes. But this was the championship there was no guarantee of an easy win, it probably was going to be one of our hardest games all season. The first quarter was a very slow game and we were losing fight off the bat.
The sideline triangle is formed by a post player, like Shaquille O’neal that 's why he dominated for most of his years in the post with the Lakers. The spacing stretches the defense both sides and it creates a lot of problems for help defense and trapping players. The Golden State Warriors ran more of a motion offense, they move around and screen for each other and help others create shots. Having the best PG and SG on your team doesn 't hurt either making shots from 40 feet and
To have three elite scorers who at their best each need the ball in their hands, it simply wouldn 't have worked. Westbrook would barely pass to Durant when they played together and you think he would pass up even more opportunities for Harden? Remember, Harden was a sixth man on that roster and they only offered him a four-year deal around $55 million dollars. If the three of them couldn 't play at the same time, you actually think that management would pay him max dollars to come off
Back to back accomplishments only carried over into his NBA career. His 1984 debut season he led the league in scoring and was named Rookie of the Year; after missing the season with a broken foot. Even worked while he was injury shows how much further he was determined to be than others. His attitude remained positive where most would take on a negative thought about the situation. Then, he returned to lead in scoring for seven consecutive seasons, averaging nearly 33 points a night.
Over the past few years the NCAA has been in the news for suspending players for illegal merchandising and benefiting from their likeness. This has kick started the argument that college athletes should be paid, some would argue that getting a scholarship is paying them enough. But the NCAA makes millions of dollars on player likeness every year and the players do not get a dime. It is the responsibility of the NCAA to provide a thorough education to subsidize athletes for their likeness that brings the university they play for millions of dollars per year. NBA basketball player Shabazz Napier has had major success at every level of basketball.
