NBA vs. College Basketball: Battle of Popularity Every basketball fan has a preference about watching college basketball, or NBA basketball. Some people think college basketball is more intense, while some people think the NBA is more athletic and more skilled. There are some similarities and differences between the NBA and college basketball; including, intensity, getting paid, and playoffs. The NBA, as most people know, is the professional league for basketball. It takes a certain person to be able to make it to the NBA. They usually have to be so tall, so athletic, or go to the right school. There have been some people that might have been better than some of the NBA’s players, but they just did not have the right intangibles. As a result, there are too many people in the NBA. Most people have to work super hard, and have to give up certain luxuries to get to the NBA. Some people think, as a general consensus, that because they have had to work so hard to get to the NBA, that they get a little lazy and burnt out once they get there. It shows up some of the player’s play styles and intensity. Compared to college players, they seem a little lazy and entitled. That is one reason some people like college more.

The NBA is one of the highest paying sports in the world. In the NFL there was just a record breaking deal for the highest paid contract. That contract in the NBA would be equal to a guy named Bismack Biyombo. Bismack Biyombo is a role player and just the casual fan might not know this player. This is also another reason why some of the NBA players are a little lazy at times. There are some NBA guys who get born into rough situations, and they have to work so hard to get to where they are. Some of those guys get complacent, and stop striving for better. Some of the other players might play for just the money, instead of the right reasons. You are supposed to play for the love of the
Today, teams like the Warriors are revolutionizing the way the game is played, as they have popularized the "small ball" play we see a lot today. The Warriors allow Draymond Green to play center standing at 6 '7", which causes them to lose size, but gives an advantage in speed and
From Peoria Illinois, to Oakland California and everywhere in between, Shaun Livingston is proof that hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t talent doesn’t work hard. The Beginning 2004 Livingston is warming up in an empty arena in Brooklyn, he’s a part of the best team in the NBA over the last few years. After running drills with some of the NBA elite such as Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant he’s surrounded by hordes of reporters during his media scrum asking questions about the Warriors. He’s answering all questions with a smile on his face.
Unfortunately, the players are given so many things and are treated like kings until everyone else starts to go off to college and develop while they stick to the delusion that they are going to go to college off of a sport, and that’s if they don’t get injured while trying. It is enjoyment by the many at the expense of the
No matter how hard top high school basketball players try the nba never gives them attention anymore. Instead those same top players have to waste a year at college where they could get injury or just not get the same training and fall off just so they have a chance of getting drafted into the NBA. Before the NBA loved watching film of high school players and were able to enter the draft from Kobe Bryant to LeBron James and they went on to win championships. Top high school players should be able to enter the nba draft and play in the nba again. Most kids who are playing high school basketball have amazing talent but going to collage for a year, that talent can fade away.
If you go straight to the NBA your skill level will increase faster, this is why High School players should be able to go straight to the NBA, for instance, a college team can only practice up to 20 hours per week while an NBA team has no limit on how much they practice. Another thing is NBA players are most of the time better than college players, so if you went straight to the NBA your skill level would go up because of the people whom you're playing with, or
Point is, is that he almost went broke just after entering the NBA, like most players. 60% of NBA players go broke after 5 years of being in the NBA. Another example, Lawrence Taylor, one of the NFL’s greatest linebackers, filed for bankruptcy just 4 years after
This downside is that professional athletes’ go broke faster than they are drafted into the leagues. Many professional players such as NBA and NFL players go broke due to career duration, overspending, family issues, and lack of financial knowledge. When trying to become a professional athlete, one must start playing sports as early as possible (Ferguson 34).Playing sports comes with many sacrifices. Athletes must commit time to practice and traveling. Moreover, they must spend money on equipment, clothing, and food (37).
The NBA gets paid more than five times the WNBA’s players salary. Half of the NBA player's average salary is more than $2.5 million and the NBA’s minimum salary is $473,604. The rookie minimum in the NBA is 490,180, while the WNBA rookie minimum is $37,260. The NBA’s
College players try harder in games because they want to be the best in the league. People give no credit to them for trying hard, they just say good game and move on. Then there are people that worship NBA players even though throughout the game the walk around or just stand there waiting for the ball. Then they tell them how good they are and worship them on their performance and it just isn’t right.
They don't only sacrifice family also time they could be out doing better things but for some athletes they love what they do. It's not only businesses paying the athletes, but we the consumers pay for their salaries by paying for tickets to the game. People buy the shoes and shirts and jerseys named after them. Some of that money should go to the athletes. Athletes are also in ads and commercials for more than just the sport they play.
You do have to learn plays in college but it’s not as complicated these college plays will help you be better for NBA plays. Young players going to NBA aren’t as strong as if they get stronger going to college. If they want to compete they would go to college first. I have noticed that players who go to college become really smart and they do smarter things in the NBA such has doing the right angled pass or just to have better basketball
First of all, they both get payed. But how much? NBA players on average get payed $1,790,902 per year however soccer players on average only get payed $50,000 per year. Now that is a huge difference. So pretty much the NBA clearly value their players more than FIFA.
Professional athletes are extremely overpaid for the “jobs” that they do. They only entertain for a living and get paid millions of dollars per season. Each sport is different in how they pay their athletes, and the difference in salaries from one player to another can be in the tens of millions of dollars. These athletes are paid for jobs that they only do for a certain number of games and do not even play the games over the course of an entire year. In most professional sports, they play in games for only a few months and then have a few months off.
There are a plethora of things inspired Kobe to have a long career in the NBA. One of the things that inspired him was how much he loved the sport. Kobe Bryant said, "It 's the enjoyment of the game and the love of it. Then it 's the low hanging fruit of responding to this challenge. I mean it 's right there, it 's very easy to get me going" ("Kobe Bryant Best Motivational Speech").
