I’m Leydi Rubio, an optimistic and proactive woman who has a dynamic way of dealing with challenges. I consider myself as a determined, highly organized, focussed, diplomatic, and practical person. I agree with Saint Augustine quotes: The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page. I was born and raised in Colombia and have been living in Brazil since 2014.
Promoting worthwhile activities and working with others to make a meaningful contribution to a better community is one of my goals. That’s why I’m part of Rotary, which is an international service organization.

Industry Investigation As of right now, I am investigating the industry of marketing design and directing. I am not fully confident that this is the industry that I will want to pursue, but am considering. Marketing design and directing means that I would have the skills of a designer, but also able to apply those with marketing skills and become a visual marketing director. One industry that I am very interested in is American Greetings (corporate.americangreetings.com).

With that said, more than ever I understand that challenges will be present and must be dealt with during my time abroad. In terms of how to deal with these challenges, that are specific to my time in Brazil, I hope to continue to work with and leverage the multiple resources that are presented to me. This includes the CIEE offices of São Paulo, the Babson Glavin Office of Multicultural and International Education and also the past Babson participants of the CIEE Business and Culture Program (who have already been so helpful in the application and discovery process). More specifically, these two individuals are close friends, one participated in the program after BRIC in 2015, Ana Sofia Nolfo, and the second who is currently in the program, Laura Jimenez.
