Colonists Actions At The Boston Tea Party

I like how you stated there were other ways the Americans could of got Britain to treat them better. The Sons of Liberty were willing to act in non-peaceful protest; however, when American’s made the colonists the constitution they made sure to only allow peaceful protest. Only allowing peaceful protests is essential, but I almost think it is a little hypocritical. Even though the Boston Tea Party fits under terrorism the colonist definitely got their point

After the Boston Massacre, Americans have realized that the British would use force if it was needed to keep them compliant and obedient. The soldiers that shot at the unarmed men walked away not guilty as Crispus Attucks passes away and other men are put through immense pain from the bullets. The colonists grew weary of the control that the British had on them. The bloodshed from the massacre lit a flame under all of the colonists; they knew if it had happened to Boston it could happen elsewhere. They had to do something about this foreign force called the British.

The American colonists held the Boston Tea Party on December, 1773. It was not a party though. It was a protest against taxs from England. The British Parliament had already taxed sugar, coffee, wine, and newspapers. The tea tax was too much.

One of the acts was the Boston Port Act, this closed Boston Harbor which was the trade center for Boston. Another act was the Administration of Justice Act, this let British soldiers get away with almost any crime and not be punished. The Quartering Act ordered British soldiers stay in colonists home which included the colonists to feed and care after the soldiers. “What is to defend us against so enormous, so unlimited a power? . . . We are reduced to the alternative of choosing an unconditional submission to the tyranny of irritated [British officials], or resistance by force.-

The Boston Port Act closed the Boston Harbor. The Massachusetts Government Act restricted democratic meetings of the town and the governor 's council was an appointed body. The Administration of Justice Act said that if a British Official commits a crime they are sent back to Britain to be prosecuted. The Quartering Act said that the colonists had to provide a home to British soldiers if needed. These acts were all in direct response to the Boston Tea Party and infuriated the colonists.

There were many key events and people that led up to the American Revolution. Two of them being the The Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre. These events are very important to history because these were the first of many events that helped with the establishment of independence from Britain. The colonist left their country and sailed across the oceans in hopes of starting a new life in a new world. However, the British government didn't give them that opportunity by controlling them.

When the British ships arrived in the Boston Harbor The colonist wanted the tea shipped back to England with out payment of tax. Then the royal governor of England insisted on payment of tax. On December 16 a group of men know as the Sons of Liberty disguised there self as Indians and boarded the British ships and dumped all of the tea into the Boston harbor. After that happened parliament passed Coercive Acts. Theses act were put in to place to punish the colonist for dumping the British tea into the Boston harbor.

It was two years later after the Boston Tea Party the war began. There were many arguments over religion and government.
