The line between art and technology is unclear. In this time period, both of them are united. Now artists use technology to create distinctive avenues and also to express themselves fully. It is true that Tim has created almost the similar picture and proved the use of technology in Vermeer’s picture but the thing is his painting does not have the elegance of the original. It seems very unrealistic and it needs the beautiful finishing that you would find in Vermeer’s paintings.
The way the figures have an expressionistic quality makes Catharsis more of a painterly image than that of American Civilization. The bodies are not mimed perfectly and are twisted. When looking at this piece there is a sense of desperation. To be able for humanity to see its flaws, Orozco uses mastery of movement and color in his murals. At time his art can give off an eerie feeling due to his use of expressionism.
Words from “Self- reliance” by Emerson that talks about conforming to society is, “I read the other day some verses written by an eminent painter which were original and not conventional. The soul always hears an admonition in such lines, let the subject be what it may. The sentiment they instill is of more value than any thought they may contain. To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, — that is genius.”(Emerson, 245) this quote is talking about how we if we don't use our own originality then we won't reach enlightenment because of the word admonition it was used in this quote as a moral failure to get to enlightenment. One of the many examples of how we are not being original, are reboots of old movies.
The type of flaw that is portrayed is different for each story; one is uncontrollable while one is a choice. The two stories also have a different outcome; it rather ends with acceptance or with revenge. It is only by understanding both stories that one can decided which one is an example of differences or dysfunctions. The message that both Pleasantville and Possibility of Evil portray is that nobody is truly perfect. The movie Pleasantville uses colour to
When the idea that tools were used to create this effect, the majestic wonder is almost striped from the oil painting. This is because it leaves viewers feeling like they have been cheated. That the beauty of the piece has been taken away. With Tim’s almost effortless version of “The Music Lesson” the audience begins to hesitate on the dexterity of the painting, and even begin to question Vermeer. The authentic nature of the painting is virtually gone.
For example, a piece of abstract art can have ridged lines and warm vibrant colors. The ridged lines may be representing anger in the artists painting, but the warm colors give the viewer a different opinion. This is why the colors and shapes also help to define the different styles that are encompassed in abstract art. One style is curvilinear. When abstract art relates to this type of style, the motifs employed are interlaced patterns, spirals, and knots.
The two types of visual sensory receptors are the rods and cones; Rods are used for no color and are sensitive to light and cones are for color and are sensitive to bright colors. The visual pathway from the eye to the brain in order starts with the optic nerve then to the optic chiasm then to the thalamus then to the visual cortex.
However, the most important reason art is valuable to is because it teaches us about the past and human nature differently than anything else can, allowing people to grow and reflect as humans. Art teaches about the past. Past people, places, and events are the foundations of artwork to realist artists. Realism
His paintings can be described as rectangular blocks of floating color with significant open spaces. His paintings embody a variety of colors. Rothko wanted to people viewing his art to be able to express basic, raw human emotion. This explains why he insisted that his paintings be displayed separately from others artists’
There were time where I would like to do certain things and i would ask a friend how they felt about it and if they negatively commented I would automatically change my mind , there would be parties I would not want to go to but the people i surrounded my self around wanted to go I would force my self to go. Everything I did these past two years in college have been based on what others thought of me and that had to change. “Its time to grow up”I tell my self . Learning who i am is what taught me what it takes to be a man. A man in my brain is a boy or teenager that learns what it takes to better your self in life .
Surrealism and op art forces someone to second guess what they see. I find this useful when I am designing or creating my own artwork. I want people’s eyes to linger on the art I make. I have an aesthetic that is similar to Steranko’s in that I am influenced by some of the same artwork he was influenced by. To make someone question what they are seeing, I think, is the purpose of art itself.
