The lone wolf terrorist is hard for detection and defense. Therefore, the police and an intelligence community faces many challenges. The relevant security authorities have managed to penetrate terrorism that are planned and organized by groups or
However, these measures do not work in full for the following reasons: 1. There has been a week cooperation between the EU Member States and the special EU institutions (Europol and Eurojust) in this sphere, in particular on the exchange of information and in coordinating the work on joint investigations and operations. 2. There is a general reluctance on the part of States to provide financial assistance and to give up part of their political sovereignty to European counter-terrorism agencies. The consequence of financial constraints is the impossibility of effective formation and maintenance of the functioning of counterterrorism structures and mechanisms at the interstate level.
However, the organization and its doctrinal principle still exist. How the world should fix this thorny issues in response to the persistent threat will be the primary national strategy to those democratic countries. Because the terrorist still believe that their conducts are following the God’s will, therefore, no any tangible or specific approach can remove their firm thoughts. In accordance with author’s opinion, every country ought to prepare short, mid, and long term response to reflect the arms projection from Al Qaeda and other terroristic organization. Thus, the homeland security has become the key consideration to the
Following the attacks of the World Trade Center the September 11, 2001, President George W. Bush pronounced a speech standing ''enemies of freedom committed an act of war'', claiming they, the American citizens, were facing a ''war on terror'', and ''the only way to defeat terrorism as a threat to our way of life is to stop it, eliminate it, and destroy it where it grows'' (President George W. Bush, address to a Joint Session of Congress and the American people, September 20, 2001). Therefore, in order to justify their action, a global military campaign in the Middle-East, the American government ''has to persuade society that such an undertaking is necessary, desirable and achievable'' (Jackson:1). According to R. Jackson, little attention had been given to the role of language and discourse in the construction of the ''war on terrorism'' (Jackson: vi), hence this book plays an important role in addressing the issue of the official language of counter-terrorism.
Today, our world has to face many crises which can not be solved in a short time such as food, water, economy, and terror. However, the terror tissue is the most challenged thing for all the governments to solve. Since September 11, 2001, not only was the US attacked by the terrorists but the other countries from over the world like Britain, Spain, Indonesia… also became the target as well, and thousands innocent people lost their lives during those surprising attacks of terrorists. Even though after September 11, 2001, US has attacked and destroyed a lot terrorists’ bases in over the world, the terrorists still survive and keep aiming to US and its allies. From the book “War on Terror” of Patrick Coaty, we will be able understand deeply how and
The Truth About Terrorism Can you recall what you were doing when your first heard about 9/11 or the terrorist attacks in Paris? Most people can remember because of the shock that they felt in that moment. This is exactly the fear that terrorist groups like ISIS want to instill in the average citizens of the world. The violent acts they commit don't have near as much of an effect without the help of the world's media.
The mission of the Bureau is to promote national security of United States of America (Kraft and Edward 6). It achieves that by taking the leading role in developing strategies and approaches that are coordinated so as to defeat terrorism and also to secure counterterrorism within the United States of America. The current policy options aim to strengthen the civilian capacity, partnerships, and information sharing throughout the states to create awareness to people on the impacts and root causes of terrorism activities. In addition, there are law enforcements policies and judicial capabilities that provide mitigation measures to the terrorism and violent extremism (Kraft and Edward 101). These laws aim at disrupting the terrorist transit, investigating, and prosecuting those involved in terrorist

In the aftermath of the September 11th terrorist attacks, The Department of Homeland Security was created to deal with terrorism threats to national security. The Anti-Terrorism plan brought forth by the department of Homeland security is split into 9 main components. A brief overview of each components is discussed. Finally the plan is looked at as a whole, evaluating how well each component leads to a unified anti-terrorism plan. Assignment 3 September 11, 2001, the worst terrorist attack on US soil to date, killing thousands of people, rocketed the nation.
The term terrorism is inextricably intertwined with the notion of foreign actors unleashing widespread disaster on American soil. This notion is not unfounded and carries a very real and very dangerous threat to the US. While the US must of course be constantly vigilant with regard to the threat of an attack emanating from a foreign land, the US must also consider an equally dangerous threat that lurks in our own backyard: the domestic terrorist. Make no mistake, the use of the word domestic should by no means diminish, and should in no way normalize the malevolency these groups perpetuate. One is tempted to limit one’s thinking regarding domestic terrorism to the latest news story and how that may affect the US in the here and now.
Tighter airport security has improved airline transportation’s security and reduced the number of attacks on airlines since 9/11. For example the Christmas 2009 day tentative to blow up the plane during a flight Amsterdam Detroit was a tactic to escape airport security measures, which were effective in controlling terrorist behaviors (Howard & Hoffman, 2012). Tapped phone lines and internet monitoring have helped to prevent some important plots in the country. “Jihad Jane” activities were uncovered by such means (Howard & Hoffman, 2012). The support of counterterrorism by citizens means that sacrifice is needed from every one.
After a terrorist attack of any kind there are always consequences that must be faced. Sometimes the point of the terrorist attacks is because the organization wished to send a message or to influence policy in their favor. However, after the 9/11 attacks administrators realized that the United States was not prepared for a tragedy of this kind and had little to no measures to prevent one, this lead them to create new programs and policies. Terrorist organization’s goal often comes down to one of the following: regime change, territorial change, policy change, social control and status quo maintenance. The main purpose of a terror attack may well be to influence public policy.
In Western society today, one of the most misconstrued topics that is discussed in the news is terrorism. The Criminal Code of Canada defines terrorism as, “an act committed, in whole or in part, for a political, religious or ideological purpose, objective or cause with the intention of intimidating the public” (Government of Canada, 2015). Despite the clarity of this definition, the general North American population has misconceived the usage of this word, and instead, labels acts of terror as different – and often, less harsh – words. This error is especially prevalent in the United States, where political leaders now lead the country into believing that terrorism is exclusive to Islam. This ideology continues into Canada as more people question,
