1. The Great Indian Comedy Show
The Great Indian Comedy Show (TGICS) was a stand-up comedy show on Indian television. Every episode of the show is hosted by a different actor including Ranvir Shorey (actor and VJ), Vinay Pathak (actor and comedian), Sunil Pal (Comedian) to name a few. Every episode starts with a small gag which sets the mood for the episode following a humorous medley. Further, the host of perform humorous monologue. As a routine, the host of the episode a one –liner comic anecdote is presents as news focusing latest happenings, sports, politics and socialites. The show is combinations of stand-up comedy and hilarious sketches with finest comic talent. The show includes parody, sketches of popular movie bits and anecdote of socialites and politicians.
The show was premiered on Star One in October year 2004. The show was broadcasted from Monday to Thursday. The show successfully completed more the 300 episodes and ended in the year 2006. In 2007, the show was renamed and started as new show with the title Hanso India Hanso claiming that the show was getting confused with other popular comedy shows – The Great Indian Comedy Show and The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. Overall, TGICS gave Indian audience an innovative comedy show.

James Earl Jones is a well-known actor. He has been in many movies and due to his strong demeanor and how captivating his acting skills are, most of the roles he plays are of a strong-willed person. A few movies he has been in is Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), Return of the Jedi (1983), and Coming to America (1988). In each movie, he has a high status of someone strong and important. With every role, he can express himself through the part.
In Jack’s informative speech, he talked about Mardi Gras and explained to the audience what it is. He effectively achieved his goal by informing the audience about it and keeping them entertained. In this paper, I will go over his strengths, weaknesses, and how to improve his speech for next time. After critically going over his speech, he will know for next time what to keep doing and what to improve on. One of Jack’s strengths in the speech is starting off speeches by using humor.
Audiences are the receivers of messages. Typically, companies or organizations are “pushing” information out to audiences – disseminating material without the goal of listening in return. A common example is when companies issue news releases. They have information about an event, an acquisition or a policy decision that is important for their audiences to know, but they most likely are not looking for those audiences to weigh in at the time of release – just like Jerry Seinfeld. On Sept. 1st, students from different corners of campus were all sprinting towards one common location: Ridgewood. It was, once again, that time of the year when Brandeis University’s four improvisational comedy groups perform for an audience of returning students and new first-year students in the annual Improv Comedy Showcase; a showcase that serves as a tidbit for first-year students of what the university has to offer. In one joke he discusses how kids today talk back and that was a thing he never did. He then imitates a girl talking back to her mom by yelling at the audience and then he gets on one knee to act to pretend to be the mom using his white lady voice he talks to her daughter and does not even hit her. When he does this he makes it seem like white people do not hit their children. On the other hand a Mexican parent would just hit you without hesitation. He then goes about how his grandma would hit on the head for anything because he did not do as she said and then he would start crying and she would question, “Why you crying?”

Popular culture shapes how society views people of other races through, music, movies, the media and in print ads. These stereotypical images that we see of other races on a daily basis have an enormous influence on racism. For example, if we were to turn on the radio and hear a rap song, most people would assume that the rapper is black, and when you think of a gardener the majority of people would assume that they are Hispanic.

When I was twelve years old, I became bored of kid’s TV shows. I knew it was time to try to find something new to watch. I had heard of some cartoon about a talking baby and talking dog, and enjoyed watching it when I stumbled upon it one day when flipping through the channels. Little I did I understand most of the jokes. Re-watching episodes now that I haven’t seen in years, I have a much greater appreciation for the humor that the writers infuse into every scene.

Many audiences of stand up comedy enjoy hearing their favorite comedian entertain them. But what would one think when a comedian cracks a joke about a sensitive topic, for example, a tragedy that affected hundreds of people. Some may argue that, comedians are not supposed to overstep the boundary of controversial jokes. These controversial jokes are linked with political correctness—which is used to describe language, policies, and measures that are taken to avoid offense to certain groups of people. Comedians are not compelled to restrain from controversial topics due to the topic not being sugar-coated, the higher level of contemplation that the joke can reach, and the job of the comedian—to make the current issue manageable.
