The general argument made by Candace Choi in her article on CBS News, is that the consumption of water has increased due to the flavored drops, along with the idea that the drops will impact the other Coca- Cola products selling amount. More specifically, Choi argues that many of the flavored packets that you put in your waters have been influencing and, in a way, forcing them to buy a bottled water. Also, with Choi states that many of the other Coca- Cola products would be affected by the increase of the Dasani Drops. She states, “Overall consumption of bottled water has also been growing, although at a much slower pace than in the early 2000’s…”(p2, p14.) In this passage Choi is suggesting that the water consumption has increased with the rise of the flavored [packets you put into your waters. She also argues, “The drops may hurt Coca- Cola’s other units, however.” (p2, p15). In this statement she is saying that the Dasani Drops will affect the other products income of money. More specifically, I believe that many people just drink water because they have the fruity, or any flavored, packets by them on the go so that they're water will taste more enjoyable then having it plain. For example, Mrs. Moon, my English teacher, enjoys the taste of the flavored packets in her water because she likes it more than the bland taste of water. Although Choi might object that water is bland, and that most people enjoy the packet in their water, I maintain the idea in my head that most people enjoy the fruity flavors in their drinks. Therefore, I conclude that flavors in your water are more desirable than bland
In Barbara Ehrenreich’s article, “Your Local News”, her ideas about outsourcing help the reader understand Fareed Zakaria’s thesis that we are living through a power shift called “The Rise of The Rest” by explaining that America is not declining but is helping everyone else rise above. These authors come together to further understanding of the shift of power that has occurred due to outsourcing, putting America in the backseat of progression, but not out of the race. Ehrenreich introduces his ideas by explaining that “in the eighties, US companies began outsourcing the manufacturing of everything from garments to steel…”, but by the nineties, “back office and call center jobs migrated to India” (609). This helps the readers understand Zakaria when he he tells his readers that “for the first time ever, we are witnessing genuinely global growth.”
From the title of Ann Coulter’s book If Democrats had any brains, they’d be Republicans it is evident that she is cynical towards the left wing. The Book goes on to discuss her perspective on all things wrong with the Democratic party, from their stance on foreign policy to gay rights. The book covers her belief and reasonings as to why Muslims should be discriminated against, claiming that though not all Muslims may be terrorists, all terrorists are Muslim. It goes on to label liberals as baby-killers, asking why they wish to protect the environment so bad but do not aim to provide the same protection to children who haven’t existed the womb.
The Greatest Generation, is an astonishing book written by Tom Brokaw. The “Greatest Generation” is based on children who grew up during this generation while the Deep Depression was going on and who became adults during World War 2. There are strong reasons as to why Tom Brokaw considerers this generation great. The children, adults, and seniors all took part of making the generation great, most kids and teens and adults took an initiative of putting their own life aside to fight in the war, this generation had to be the be the greatest, by far. I state this, because this generation was forced to go through so many life changing events like the Great Depression, then had to face War for six years.

In his open letter to Ann Coulter, John Franklin Stephens not only redefines the “R” word, and demonstrates the ways he has witnessed its usage, but while doing this Stephans also eliminates the excuses that Coulter could make about why she used the word. By defining the different ways that the “R” word could be used, Stephans is forcing Coulter, and other readers to reckon with their understanding of the “R” word. In doing this, Stephans is hoping that people won’t continue using the “R” word improperly. Before Stephens redefines the “R” word, he sets up the letter, and made some decisions that were crucial to making the letter as effective as it was.

If college students continue to cut out the aspects of education that may be upsetting, it is very likely that things worth learning will disappear. When classrooms are meant to comply with a certain level of safety and well being, the freedom of real curiosity and discovery are removed and unreal expectations for life are generated. Your Analysis: I found this article to be thought provoking and well written. The author, Peggy Noonan, brings up a number of points that I believe to be relevant in today’s education system. It’s definitely probable that if universities continually remove and edit classroom material and discussions, the kind of learning that results in actual progress will be inhibited.
I chose to read the article about Andrea Yates. She later went on to become and work as a Registered Nurse (RN) (Andrea Yates: Post-Partum Psychosis n.d. ). In the essay “Reporting Live from Tomorrow” written by Daniel Gilbert, he describes how people predict their future emotions by using others’ experiences.
