• What is stress?
Stress is your body's way of responding to any kind of demand or threat. When you feel threatened, your nervous system responds by releasing a flood of stress hormones, which provoke the body for emergency action. There are different types of stress positive stress as well as negative stress. These effect you physical, mental and emotional being.
• Causes of stress:
The situations and pressures that cause stress are known as stressors. We usually think of stressors as being negative, such as an exhausting work schedule or a rocky relationship. However, anything that puts high demands on you or forces you to adjust can be stressful.3 Examples of common causes of stress would be:
• Major life changes
• School
• Relationship

Stress can motivate, encourage and make you push yourself it can be a great motivating force at times and this is partly why we developed stress in the first place. It's an intellectual enhancer because the stress actually improves some aspects of our intelligence. Lastly it is a physical enhancer this is because it causes the release of adrenaline which speeds up your heart rate and so your metabolism. Examples of eustress would be an oral or even writing an exam
• Physiological reactions to stress:
The involuntary physical reaction that your body gives of due to stress: (Examples):
1. Headaches: This is caused by a tightening of the muscles in the upper back, neck and head.
2. Insomnia: when you stress you overthink and in doing this you stay up most of the night trying to reason with yourself
3. Loss of sexual desire stress can have a major impact on your happiness and can decrease your drive to have sex.
4. Upset stomach: anxiety and stress causes your mind to focus on the issues that are bothering you the most, and so when your stomach is bothering you because of anxiety, anxiety will cause that effect to be amplified making your stomach run to get rid of it.
5. Elevated blood pressure: your body produces a surge of hormones when you're in a stressful situation. These hormones temporarily increase your blood pressure by causing your heart to beat

Moodiness: your brain uses all its energy focusing on the stress you are going through it often leaves you tired and moody.
2. Irritability or short tempered: you get tired quickly do to the fact that you are stressed and often procrastinate because of stress. Fatigue could make you irritable.
3. Inability to relax tiredness and emotional tiredness: stress makes you tired which often leads to the inability to relax
4. Feeling overwhelmed: your brain distorts because you can’t focus on anything but the stress.
5. Sense of loneliness and isolation: one isolates yourself because you are stressed and often can’t communicate properly with other people as well as the fact that you get consumed by stress that you cannot reason or focus on anything else.
6. Depression or general unhappiness: can be caused by the overwhelming amount of things you have to do or you feel hopeless as if you can’t do anything about it leading to depression (or sadness).
