The Godfather is an excellent example that the voice of blood and close ties often determine a person 's fate, not allowing the main heroes to escape from the circumscribed circle. Postwar America is entangled in the web of the Sicilian mafia. The Syndicate of Don Corleone zealously protects the borders of his possessions, independently administers justice and helps to get out into people 's countrymen. F. F. Coppola sympathizes to Corleone family and offers an original interpretation of criminal story, filling it with the subtext of father-son tragedy and a focus on strong family bonds. The movies that have been chosen are from two decades, which are from the 2000s, and 2010s. The romantic comedy movies being evaluated are Clueless (1995) and Friends With Benefits (2011). Another film with Scorsese’s exceptional style is the “Taxi Driver” with Robert De Niro as a main character. Mr. Scorsese does not give us the information about the main character’s past but instinctively makes us think that all of the violence and main character’s violent thoughts are based on his past experience and society in which he was raised. In Martin Scorsese’s movies violence is described as a part of a society and portrays violence as something that we can not escape
In the novel the godfather this tendency of men has been reflected beautifully. The author may not have intentionally brought up this issue but the way these mafia men treat their women has definitely been bothersome. The godfather talks about the journey of a man named Vito Corleone who later rose to become the don of the mafia world. His journey before and after becoming a don is what fills the pages of this novel and how later his third son Michael Corleone who wanted to live a normal American life with his girlfriend Kay Adams, ends up succeeding his father and becoming even more ruthless and unforgiving. This novel is based in the New York city and traces along the war between the 5 mafia families in New York.
