Consequently, many Native Americans began to negatively view Europeans and many would view them as inferior. Another way the Europeans impacted the Native Americans was by forcing them into slavery. The Spanish would practically enslave Native Americans through various systems, such as the encomienda, repartimiento, and mita. Usually, the Native Americans could not handle the arduous workload and many would die as a result. Conquest and forced labor caused the native population to significantly decline.
“ It should be kept in mind that their insatiable greed and ambition, the greatest ever seen in the world, is the cause of their villainies.” (Las Casas) The people of Spain used murder and slavery as a means to depopulate the Islands due to their greed. According to Casas, the number of slain Indians is about 15 million in the fourty years that the Spaniards have intruded on the Natives land. Young men and rulers were killed, while women and young children were forced to be slaves to the Christians.
I believe some Indians chose to react rather than give up their freedoms. Another reason rage increased was from the outsider’s unfaithful agreements. They proved to be ruthless and unrelenting. “From Yellow Wolf His Own Story” This story solidifies the malicious ways the outsiders used to solidify their unethical territorial domination. An ongoing battle broke out when Nez Perce Indians tried to escape the inevitable removal of their homes.
The author gives insight on how many ways the Spaniards used their power to assist in the downfall of the Aztecs. The reason why the Spaniards became victorious, was because the Spaniards were looked upon as if they were gods because of their outer appearance. The Aztecs broke bread and welcomed the Spaniards with gifts and parties. The Aztecs triggered their relationship with the Spaniards by holding a ritual for the arrival of the god which included a human sacrifice. The Spaniards didn’t agree with the rituals and began to despise the Aztecs.
The slaves are not considered human in this time, but as animals “...we were all pent up together like so many sheep in a fold…” (Equiano 4). These conditions and brutishness can be compared to today’s sex trade. Young men and women are sold illegally to be used and mistreated until death, though slavery in this time was
Crassus, Pompey, and Julius Caesar. Three individuals that helped change Rome from Republic to Empire and had some of the biggest impacts on Rome. They were three of the most powerful leaders, and when their power and forces combined, the First Triumvirate started. Going from Republic to Empire, Rome went through many changes starting from individual influences, cultural and group influences, to taking on a whole new religion. “A triumvirate is a government by three people, all with equal power” (McGraw Hill 135).
(DOC 3). This shows as they did conquer this land, they did still spare the lives of some of their enemies. As stated previously, there are some that believe otherwise. People believe the Mongols are truly barbaric. They see all these deaths caused by them and find it horrible.
Many of the natives died due to Columbus. Him and his crew forced many of them into labor because they did not have the gold or the spices he came there for. He brought some of them back on ships for slavery and many of them died on the way due to being malnourished by Columbus and his crew. While Columbus and his crew were back with the natives, they killed the natives that refused to give their items and jewelry away, So the king and
Fear was a major factor in the increasing power of these empires. Both empires used fear as a way to gain more land, increasing their empire. The Aztecs were feared for their strong warriors and human sacrifices to their gods. The military power of the Aztecs helped them in conquering the surrounding tribes. While this empire was growing, they contracted an alliance with the Tepanec tribe.
Some act like big babies, parents, trained, wild, or playful. According to the article, “Pit Bulls are born to fight” I disagree with this. All pit bulls aren't raised to fight, however, there are some pit bull owners that train their pit bull to become vicious so that they could fight and kill other dogs for ,money. I also disagree with the myth that states, “Pit Bulls have high bite rates” because it doesn't states all the circumstances that happened to cause a pit bull to bite. Some of these accidents could've came from a pit bull trying to protect someone or someone making them act out in such a bad manner.
Ancient Civilizations Egypt, Mesopotamia, and India are some of the early civilizations, that helped to shape the world as we know it. Each ancient civilization had many contributions to society. Some would include irrigation, grid like house system, and written languages. Ancient Egypt is one of the most common ancient civilizations. We all know them for the pyramid but that 's not all that they achieved.
There were many ancient civilizations that conveyed their religious beliefs, spirituality, and worldviews through their architecture, decorations, and other artistic mediums. The three cultures that stand out the most in regards to their beliefs being conveyed through architecture and art are Cahokia, Nubia, and India. Cahokia was a Mississippian civilization located in what is modern day North America. One of the unique cultural aspects within their government, known as the chiefdom, was the way in which the ruler of Cahokia was treated in regards to their gods. In a chiefdom, the ruler is hereditary and the chiefdom is based on a gift-giving and communal culture.
The Aztecs demanded more than
More native fought back such as the seminole tribe fought against the act and it was called the Seminole Wars. there were three separate “wars”. It started as natives responding to getting pushed off their land. In the end, white started to provoke violence so they could be justified in killing natives.
To create something great you must learn from the achievements and failures of others. This is how many of the great empires of the old world became what they were and how modern day society came about. Some of these empires that we have learned from are the Ottomans, the Safavids, and the Mughals. These societies had a major impact with their cultural achievements, ranging from their art to their writing. While they share similarities of a virtuous empire, they also have some differences which contributed to their rise and fall.
