Starting in the late 1400s European explorers came across ‘The New World’ of present day Eastern Hemisphere. After this discovery many countries such as France, Portugal, Netherlands, England and Spain set out to explore this place and conquer land, establish colonies and find riches. Some explorers such as Christopher Colombus and John Cabot had a critical role in new advancements in ‘The New World’ Due to this discovery the world was changed forever. Christopher Columbus was born o n 1451 in Genoa, Italy. His name was Cristoforo Colombo in Italian. At the age of 11 he moved to Savona. As an adult Colombus thought he could find a sea trade route to Asia to trade spices. He convinced Queen Isabella and King Fernidad of Spain to pay for his trip and he would give them the trades but a 10% keep for himself. It was said that he was inspired by Christopher Colombus. In many ways they were alike. They did not sail for Italy but another country. Cabot sailed for England. He convinced the King of England, King Henry VII. Cabot made three voyages. One in 1496, 1497 and 1498. In his second trip Cabot sailed the Matthew. In his journeys he came across Cape Bonovista in Newfoundland and Maine in The United States of America. Cabot wanted to find new land and riches for England. Being succesful he received pay of 20 euro, Europes currency. John Cabot was sucecesful in finding new lands for England he was important in the development of American history due to him claiming the lands for England. If Cabot had not claimed it today parts of Americas might be speaking Dutch or French. During his last voyage Cabot never came back. Nobody knows what happened to him. Many people thought he was lost at sea by a storm. But there have beeen records of some crew members on England but not Cabot. Other historians have came to a conclusion that Cabot did return to Engand in 1500. But no one knows for
