Nick Emmert Larry Blomstedt HIST-1301 5 October 2015 Ben Carson and Hillary Clinton I chose to write about Ben Carson and Hilary Clinton. I chose these two because I feel they are 2 of the most popular candidates. Ben Carson feels that we have a way to build a wall but not the will to which means that we know we can but in reality we just do not want to as a country. Employers enjoy cheap labor and he is not opposed to people coming here legally. But if they are allowed in this country to work but not to obtain citizenship that is a morale low. Clinton on the other hand believes that deporting illegals in America is wrong and they should be able to obtain citizenship within 100 days. Carson also feels wealth should not be distributed equally.
Bill Clinton and Donald trump were two American Presidents that had unfortunately been impeached but for less unfortunate reasons the only part about it is what they did to get in that situation. What does it mean to get impeached? Impeachment is the removal of a person with power from office. Ways to get impeached are high crime, such as felonies in a criminal trial, another one is bribery, which our last president Donald J trump committed in his election.
Two men who have made a big part in our American history were Martin Luther King Jr. and Abraham Lincoln. Also, they were both very important Civil Right Movement leaders. For example, even though they both worked hard for African-Americans equal rights, Martin fought for African-American’s rights, while Abe defended African-American’s rights. Dr. King was an African-American so he felt the hurt when Abe was only seeing the African-American 's hurt.
Although the anti-immigrant groups believe that the federal law overpowers any moral law, Rose continues to discreetly show her support with the pro-immigrant group. Rose critiques the “wall” as a method of preventing immigration that will ultimately fail just like the Great Wall of China and the Berlin wall which in the end “cannot contain the mass movements of people” (97). Rose is suggesting that the border fence will too be just another wall of admiration such as the Great Wall, that failed to serve its purpose rather evoked thousands of unnecessary deaths. She imposes the question amongst us whether the wall is worth the billions of dollars of cost to build and maintain. In addition, Rose again in later chapters raises the issue of NAFTA
For many early settlers in America, a strong faith and steady belief in God’s ability to influence and intervene in their everyday lives was vital to survive and endure the hardships and burdens they often faced. This is the case in “A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson”, Mary Rowlandson’s account of a Native American attack on her home which resulted in a lengthened, grueling captivity; throughout her captivity, Rowlandson finds immense comfort and peace in her faith in God and within a Bible she receives. Similarly, Anne Bradstreet depicts the tragic burning of her home in her poem “Here Follows Some Verses upon the Burning of Our House, July 10th 1666”. In her poem, Bradstreet portrays the sadness she feels
Authors Fran Burke and Betty Houchin Winfield both enlighten readers to the many accomplishments of former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. While both authors give Eleanor rightful praise and recognition, they do so in different ways. In her essay “She Made a Difference”, Burke focuses on Eleanor’s humanitarian work through charitable organizations, while in “The Legacy of Eleanor Roosevelt”, Winfield places more emphasis on Eleanor’s work as a journalist and influence in shaping the role of the first lady. By providing various examples of her dedication, persistence, and independence, Burke and Winfield write effective pieces that highlight Eleanor’s most noteworthy qualities.
In conclusion, Eliane’s argument had its highs and lows. Although the basis of the body, the first paragraph, showed major potential for the argument and displayed that Eliane had a decent idea for a plan of how to make less strict immigration policies work, she took away from the strength of her argument with her usage of the ad hominem fallacy and overuse of
I personally feel I am more of a Democrat than a Republican. American Politics The two major political parties of the United States are the Democrats and the Republicans. There are also third parties such as the Constitution party, the Green party, the Independent party, and the Libertarian party. The Democratic and the Republican Party constantly compete with each other trying to promote their political ideals and searching the means for maintaining their continuous political leadership.
Donald Trump has certainly offended many Hispanics with his harsh talk of immigration, but on September 1st he took the first step to making amends by inviting Javier Palomarez, president of the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, to his Manhattan office for a meeting. Mr. Palomarez was pleasantly surprised with Trump’s cordial attitude, but still disapproved of his plan to build a wall along the border with Mexico and to deport millions of immigrants in the country illegally as he believes that such moves would severely cost the construction and hospitality industries, which rely on the labor of

Running Head: THE DREAM ACT Name Course Instructor Date Is the Dream Act helpful to undocumented immigrants in the United States? After being around for many years, the bill of Dream Act has reintroduced Lindsey Graham, Senator for South Carolina and other participants. A discussion between the president of U.S and congressional Democratic leaders focused on the combination of the Dream Act and the issue of border security as the components of the overall immigration deal.
As the president of United States of America it can be a little hard to make certain decisions. What the people want and what is for the best for them is very different. Yet this President is for. Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton were presidents of the United States, who may have done good or bad throughout their time serving in office. Both presidents will be compared to determine who brought the best for United States.
This speech was spoken by Ben Carson. Ben Carson was a retired neurosurgeon and politician who served as the 17th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development from 2017 to 2021. Ben Carson used this speech as a forum for the political, social, and business elite to assemble and pray together. This speech was critical of President Obama’s policies and particularly Obamacare when the President and First Lady Michelle Obama were seated a few feet away. The use of figurative language and ethos in this speech is what makes this speech successful due to the sources of these devices and the relation of these
Carson is acknowledging that, often times, economic issues just simply cannot be separate from social issues. He is rejecting the common thought at this event that you must deviate from economics and focus solely on social issues. Support— Carson called for a better educational system in the United States of America, addressed the national debt and his support of the flat tax, and referenced the health care in the country. He not only provided policy fixes for these issues but personal fixes as well, such as the individual decision to choose to stop making excuses for yourself despite your economic status and contributions to HSA accounts that will teach the indigent how to be responsible with their money. Transition— For all of the reasons, the national prayer breakfast was precisely the time for Carson to bring forth these policy issues.
The most agreeable point that detractors make is that the border has to be enforced. However, it is not possible to pretend that the detention and deportation of eleven million of immigrants is in any way a viable option. It is definitively evident that the future solution to the current immigration crisis lies on the creation of a bipartisan proposal that includes not only a solution that takes the eleven million on
