Hunter and Gatherer v.s. Agriculturist Essay
Hunters and gatherers have been around for hundreds of years and so has agriculture. Agriculture has helped hunters and gathers with the population increasing, moving has slowed down, and people have become more time continuous. My opinion that agriculture has made us who we are today. I don’t consider it bad, but a great deal of people do, because we lost all of our old traditions. Population has increased, this was a dreadful piece of history for early hunters and gatherers because they just hunted and gathered for food. As the population started to increase, the more food had decreased so hunters and gatherers would move seasonally in hopes of food. Once people found out about agriculture, although it was dreadful at the beginning, it brought more food for the enormous populations so hardly anyone died of starvation. Agriculture

When hunters and gatherers just hunted and gathered time didn’t matter, they would hunt until it became dark and gathered until it became dark also. When agriculture came around agriculturist have to know when to pick the corn they couldn’t just leave the product in the fields during winter, so they needed to know the time to harvest. Also, agriculturalist have to know the time to start planting the crops if they didn’t the crops may not grow and if the agriculturist didn’t have enough food stored they could die of starvation especially over the winter months.
Agriculture definitely has its perks, but it was a huge adjustment to hunters and gatherers. For many reasons like it helped the hunter and gatherers population increase, moving started to slow down, and people became very time conscious.
