Junior High and High school leave a big impact on you and they are very different. The debut of high school changes you significantly. The differences can be from how strict they are, to their grading system, to the overall look of their school. This change can be very difficult for people or very easy, but for me it was the change in education and overall look that was the biggest for me. The strictness of the teachers and staff gave us less freedom at junior high but high school gives you more freedom. Junior high looked nicer than high school . These differences change the way you act and feel about your school. The way you act also changes the way your school looks.
The first difference I realized was how kids act at high school. Some act more mature while at junior high everyone acts immature or semi mature. Kids in high school are older and get lots of freedom while junior highs are stricter and get less freedom. Sophomore year, I learned more about hard work than ever in my life so far. I doubled up in science, I was constantly bogged down by copious English assignments, and my basketball coach pushed me further than anyone had ever before. I made a lot of bittersweet memories in the hot, musty OAC that winter during those practices. Junior year was an absolute blur. I made an effort to engage in my friendships and learn more about the people around me.
Korbey (2015) stated, the transition from middle school to high school is a big one, perhaps bigger than appeared at first blush. Ninth grade is difficult because it tells whether students graduate or not. When students move into high school it's so different. Grit + External Factors versus College College, University, or any form of post secondary education. The common place of higher education is society is seen as a crucial part of an individual’s progress to achieving their life’s goals in whatever it may be. However many fall short on achieving their college diploma due to lack of ‘grit’; “Sticking with things over the very long term until you master them.” as Duckworth notes, or perhaps external factors that cause a halt on pursuing further education. In any of the circumstances, each has their faults that can be attributed to a lack of grit or simply life took over.
When I was in MacCracken middle school, I always wondered what it would be like when I went to Spartanburg high. I kind of wished someone would have told me what high school would be like. Now that I have been here for a year and a half, it is not that hard. I have managed to learn not only a lot in class but also a lot about Spartanburg High School and its people. Friendships and reasonability are areas that I think students in the eighth- grade student should know before they arrive.
High school is one of the greatest pivotal times in a human's life. It is where young adults are able to form their own opinions on the world, find activities they are passionate about, and learn to create fruitful relationships with their peers and teachers. However, I did not initially view high school as a period of time for growth and development. Instead, I saw it simply as another task to complete before I entered the real world. I did not take advantage of all the opportunities around me and I began to find school to be institutionalized or meaningless.
This was mainly the fact that during those few years, teenagers take rapid strides in puberty. By the end of my sophomore year, everyone around me was completely different person from who I was
There are many different things that can impact students in their high school years. Whether these things are friends, activities, or the sports they participate in they all impact the student. Many opportunities are presented to students in high school, although not many impacts the student beyond high school, I believe this opportunity will impact me forever. I would love to be a part of the Early College Program this coming spring. I believe the program will do nothing but help me grow and strive to be a better student and continue being involved.

High school has impacted my life in so many ways. High School taught me so many things, from personal relationships to creating a relationship with my education. As a freshman, I made a huge amount of mistakes and I regret doing foolish things, but I’ve realized, I was only maturing into the young adult I am today. Freshman year, I was out of focus and I was only trying to find myself. I would also prioritize other things and ignore my parent’s advice, where they would tell me to focus in school and give it my full attention.
The high school that I was in gave me an interesting experience. I was able to learn and experience different lessons with in my high school. Three of those life lessons that I went through are when my school was placed on lockdown, another experience is a club that I joined which helped really mature.
