The very limited group of Calla, Keaton and two other military men followed they passed through Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania before finally passing the sign that said “welcome to New York. They could feel that they were close knew Jonny was nearby, however, they also knew with only four of them there was no way in hell they would dare try and catch Whitman. They desperately needed more men they needed to outnumber Whitman’s posey. That would be the only way that Whitman would surrender, the only reason Whitman would give up is if we had more. More Guns, Men and frankly, everything. Inside word recently told them that Whitman and his posey were heading to lake Ontario, they were going to try another island! They called …show more content…
“We have to succeed,” Calla said worried. “We will” Keaton replied comfortingly “If it doesn’t we are putting so many lives in danger,” Calla said. “We know what is at stake,” Keaton said. “We signed up for the military, we knew that it was going to dangerous. The Next Morning the team headed to the lake. They knew that it all came down to that day. Would it be risky? 100%. Will they capture all who are involved? No one could know for sure. Where they determined? Hell ya they were. That was all then needed, well that and pure guts. Calla felt ready as would ever be, she was nervous but that was to be expected. She jumped into their armoured boat and as they zipped across the lake she enjoyed the calm before the storm. However, when they arrived at the island all was quiet. No tents were set up no guns lying around it was just an island, a simple lovely island. “ WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON” Calla …show more content…
Were they on the wrong island? At first they thought so but sadly after looking at countless maps of the lake they found the island that they were on to be the only one. The only other option that they could think of is that their inside source that tipped them off either turn against them or got found out and was forced to tell them the wrong place to go. They especially Calla was sure the inside source must have been found out. The maybe stupid but rational thing Calla and Keaton decided to do was to call their inside source maybe they could talk to them without Whitmen hearing? Calla called, someone picked up. “Hello? Calla is this you?” The voice said “Yes, where are you?” Calla asked “I told you we are on the island in the middle of Lake Ontario.” they said “I know your not! We have searched the whole freakin Island!” Calla replied “Calla, I am so sorry Whitmen made we do it.” They sorringly replied “Well? Where are you now?” Calla asked “Hold on he hears me, I have to pretend your my mother now ok?” “Ok,Ok, yes. WHERE ARE YOU?” “Mom I told you before I an in Iowa for business right now.” They

Ships may be passing. Do you remember how he went hunting and the fire went out and a ship passed by? (155). The other boys had left the fire because they rather go hunting for meat and having fun. This had shown that when they left the fire, it was also showing that they were leaving their only hope and chance of being seen by a boat and being rescued from the island.

The Romantics influenced Walt Whitman, with his writing by emphasizing on emotions, valuing introspection and demonstrating a value of individuality. Walt tell Americans in his great writing about his view about valuing individuality by explaining when he says, “I resist anything, better than my own diversity, Breathe the air but leave plenty after me, And am not stuck up, and am in my place. (The moth and the fish-eggs are in their place, The bright suns I see and the dark suns I cannot see are in their place, The palpable is in its place and the impalpable is in its place.) Ralph Waldo Emerson and Walt Whitman emphasize the importance of living true to yourself and developing complete self-acceptance. To live true to yourself and completely accept who you are, you must understand your identity and your sense of self. In Self-Reliance, Emerson explains that your identity and your sense of self is spiritual. Whitman argues, in Song of Myself, that your identity and sense of self is based on both your soul and your body. While both Emerson and Whitman allow for intimate connections and friendships, Emerson encourages people to have relationships with a select few, whereas Whitman encourages people to connect with everyone and anyone, due to their different views of self.
