The write to express any opinions without censorship or restraint. Freedom of speech in the United States is protected by the first amendment to the United States Constitution and by many state Constitutions and state and federal laws. In my opinion everyone all over the world should be able to have the freedom of speech. If we don't have the
From then on out, and continuing today, Americans are given the choice in who their ruler will be. The American government also currently sustains the ensurement of the fundamental rights of its population. Paine also admits in his writing that everyone in America is equal and “the poor are not oppressed, the rich are not privileged…” Everyone was to be treated fairly and equal in America in the late 1700’s while residents of England were divided by unprotected rights and freedoms and class systems. Today, everyone continues to be entitled to the same rights and freedoms as the people in 1791. Overall, America has not changed all too much throughout the years, but whenever it does, it is for the better.
What it means to be an American is that you have the freedom to vote freedom of speech. You have the liberty to be what you want in America no one chooses for you. Also have the liberty to work wherever you want not be someone 's slave. Being American means you don 't have to hide your religion, the color of your skin or your sex. You have the ability to speak what you want.
The 14th Amendment was important because if played the most major factor on our society it gave each individual equality. The 14th Amendment allowed us to take this to the future and our children’s future and will forever and always live in this society even after we are long gone. To come to my conclusion I will recap some of my final thoughts about the above. First I do agree with some of the things that President Lincoln did I also love the fact he issues the Emancipation Proclamation. I do agree that a start needed to be made in reference to our slave’s freedom.
They can also say what they want to say without the fear of prosecution. Freedom is a tremendous part of America due to winning our freedom in 1776 and we are still fighting for it today both here in the states and overseas. Americans are known to dream big, as children we are told that we can be anything that we want to be as long as we work for it and don’t give up. Many dreams are fulfilled
America’s gifts to my generation mean a lot to me. One gift America has given my generation includes freedom. Freedom is a gift that America has given my generation because freedom gives us Americans the right to speak, act, and think as someone wants without restraint. Some freedom acts include Freedom of Speech. In this act you have the right to express your ideas and opinions.
America, before the British colonialism, is populated by the Native people and they do not have a stable economy and government. After the colonization of the European, America began to apply what they learned from the British and make up their government. And today, America is most powerful country in the world while United Kingdom is the second most powerful. If the British did not colonize America, it could still be populated with Native people until now. Even if Africa did not develop like America, it was able to become a developed country among the other third world countries.
The Bill of Rights is the most influential historical document because it is the basis of our human rights. The Bill of Rights was created after the Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. The Founding Fathers realized that a set of “rights” should be written and approved in order to avoid arguments between citizen and citizen or citizen and government. James Madison took most of the lead when creating this document. He wrote out a list of all the rights that a United States citizen should have.
It is America, the land of the free. Everyone has their Constitutional rights to believe how they want and to even voice their opinion. Freedom of speech. The Bible is something our country is founded on and it should stay that way. We have the freedom to choose whether or not we want it in our everyday lives.
The American Character is the fusion of many different qualities. In the year of 1776, America gained its freedom from Britain, guided towards the concept of freedom, rights, and equality that together create today’s American. One of the qualities that make an American character is that of hoping to live the American Dream. Hoping to live the American Dream means that a person living or coming into the US, has the hopes of living the dream of having wealth and freedom that is included in living the American Dream. This idea of the American Dream is what unites our “United States” of America; we are united in the dream and hope of achieving our individual versions of the American Dream.
This ideal that John believed in is upheld totally as can be seen in the power that is possessed by the judicial branch with their ability to determine legality and the final say of the Supreme Court. If he were alive today, he would be proud that there is religious freedom for all citizens. Now that our country is a country of many religions, he would be proud that this ideal has stood the test of time. He would also take pride in the institution of several judicial powers and the final say of court systems as well as the fairness of the court system in equal representation. Overall what John thought that the nation should be is what the nation ultimately became and I believe he would be proud of this
The evolution and spread of human rights to women and slaves was a positive thing as it made them pertain to all humans now as it should. The ideas came from the declaration and its authors: Thomas Jefferson, John Jay, and Benjamin Franklin who supported these rights. Free press- Free speech and press was outlined in the 1st amendment of the constitution. The founders saw free speech as a means of gaining truth, scientific advancement, and cultural development. Up until 1798 there were no bans against free speech other than defaming another person, which was not protected under the constitution.
Today, freedom is the cornerstone of what it means to be an American. When asked what they thought it was to be an American, most people would reply with an answer about how, as an American, they had the right to be free. Whether it be the freedom to practice any religion (just like the pilgrims fought for), or it be the freedom to speak freely without fear of an oppressive government. When the pilgrims achieved this freedom, they set forth the idea that an American, at their very core, had the right to be free. Without this value, the landscape of modern society, as well as what it means to be an American, might look very different.
