“The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn the more places you’ll go,” says the famous author Dr. Seuss. Many children today sit around looking at their phones, or watching television. They do not realize that reading is such a great way to learn and grow in a different way. Learning by reading fiction stories is fun, innovative and enjoyable. Not only are books a more fun way to learn, they are better entertainment than movies as well. Books last longer than movies, they give more detail, and they grow imagination. Whether it be fairy tales, historical fiction, or fantasy, reading books are more enjoyable than movies because a book allows the reader to “become” someone else for a little while. Reading books is better than watching a movie because, books allow the reader to imagine the setting for themselves, they provide more backstory then a movie could and they last longer than a movie. Books are superior to movies because, they engage the reader more than a movie, letting the reader think for themselves. They provide more information to the story than a movie could, and the entertainment of a book last for days while a movie only last for a few hours. I used to not like reading. But then I realized how fun it is and what a great way to learn it provides, I love “becoming” another person if only for a little while. Reading has grown me in ways that I did not believe possible. There are many in the world who cannot read, in the U.S many have the privilege to learn to read but they are wasting that ability on simply watching television. God has given the ability to be able to read and write etc. and we should spend more time using that
