Our country has had quite a few Presidents in its day and with that come the good and the bad. Now, not all Presidents are either purely good or bad. There are some that mostly bad with a bit of good while others can be mostly good with a hint of bad. Now, no man is perfect by any means but there are a few Presidents that have done fantastic while in office and that have been a purely beneficial factor for our country.

Every president is either praised for helping advance a nation, or castigated for not doing anything. The success of a president is reliant on the success of the country. It seems that no matter the amount of work they put in during their time in office someone always has negative comments. If the majority of the country doesn’t stand behind the president nothing will be accomplished. The people are needed to help vote on bills put in place along with voting on who would make the best representatives. The success of a president is reliant on the success of the country. President’s Reagan and Roosevelt had opposite ideas but both did what they could to help better the country.

In addition to this, the rising tax rates affected many families and businesses. He was a New Right Conservative, with many conservative policies. He acted on his conservative beliefs during office. Ultimately, I believe that Ronald Reagan mostly achieved the economic and foreign policy goals of New Right Conservatives by lowering taxes for a free market, developing a stronger military

He was not only the first president of the United States but also the commander in chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He was victorious over the British and quickly became a hero doing so. He helped draft the constitution and with his leadership and courage. As first president, he become a role model for every other present succeeding him and helped create our countries values that we cherish so much today.

His first and main correctional act is reducing the federal budget deficit which was the largest in American history ($290 billion). In fact, he started working on that with implementing higher taxes for the wealthy people and lower for the poor, reduction of tariffs and programs to increase federal government efficiency. According to the appendix A, President Bill Clinton’s policies were successful after moving from a $290billions federal deficit in 1992 to a surplus of $236 billion in 2001 when he left the presidency. The benefits were used to pay the national debt.

So, in his second term he turned to a different strategy getting to know someone like Gorbachev. The conservatives thought he was making a mistake. Roland Reagan’s success finally proved to the conservatives that his friendship with Gorbachev was not a dupe. Gorbachev was not deceitful, but a reformer who wanted to reform, change for Russia and end the Cold War.
