San Diego culture is a mix of American and Mexican cultures due to it being a border town. The city of San Diego is one of the most diverse places in the nation having a mix of numerous different cultures and ethnicities. Athens, on the other hand, is an extremely religious city being that 98% of the Greeks happen to be Christian Orthodox. The Athens culture was influenced by the Minoans and Bronze Age civilizations. People love to see the view from that height and see the beautiful historic building. You can also visit temple of Olympian Zeus. This is another historic site that has a beautiful view. The temple had gotten destroyed by a hurricane, but it is still a great visit nonetheless. The last thing to visit is the acropolis museum. The geography of Athens was more favorable than that of any other Greek city-state. Athens was the largest of the Greek city-states and had the most fertile land. It was also situated near the Aegean Sea, so it was great for long-distance trading. Government of Arcania Arcania was born right after the Peloponnesian War in Sparta.
Athens vs. Sparta DBQ Athens and Sparta were two of the world's greatest ancient civilizations. Though they were both city-states in Greece they had their differences. Some of the largest contrasts were education, government, and the roles girls and women played in their societies. In Sparta the schools for children were very harsh and military based.
Athens and Sparta had different forms of lifestyle. Thier citizens also had very different ways of life. Athens was a walled city near the sea with ships came and went from a busy port. Inside the city walls of Athens, accomplished master potters and sculptors worked in workshops to create brilliant furniture that can easily be traded to sailors from different regions. Freemen were the main elements of citizenship in Athens.
Her shrine, the Parthenon, lies in the center of the city. Life In Athens Education was very important in Athenian daily life. Girls stayed home to learn how to sew and run a home, while boys went to school to learn poetry and government. Sparta
When in Rome Rome has a better system than Athens in my opinion. Athens citizens have more responsibility and rights then Rome. Rome has more of a family oriented style of citizenship. Athens and rome both honored citizenship in their own ways equally.
First of all, the economy was very strong in Athens. Athens is located in the gulf, and the transportation was very convenient, so development in industry and commerce increased rapidly. What’s more, Democracy was rising in Athens.
Are you visiting Rome? The city has many attractions. Vatican city, Colosseum, Stadio Olimpico, crusty thin pizza and many others. My personal favorite, and maybe the biggest attraction of them all is the Pantheon.
Athens had a lot going for it that made it great, even legendary. It’s no wonder that kids today learn about Athens and Sparta in history class. Because of the government, education system, and cultural achievements, Athens will reign superior to
Athens had better cultural achievements. “The myths continued to be popular through the centuries, and major public buildings such as the Parthenon at Athens, the Temple of Zeus at Olympia, and the Temple to Apollo at Delphi were decorated with larger-than-life sculpture representing celebrated
Even to this day, we still use Athens and Sparta’s societal systems and structures because they were so revolutionary. Athens even introduced the idea of democracy, and Sparta had a strong military culture. Although Athens and Sparta were close together, Athens focused on leadership and education while Sparta focused on the military and war. However, due to their different governments and cultures, each has their strengths and weaknesses. However, because Athens focuses on its future leaders, Athens is the better model for a society.
Citizenship : Why Athens was the Better System Athens was a small city compared to Rome that honored and protected citizenship. There was a constant importance of acknowledging all citizens hard work and participation. Athenians made it clear that the poor helped build the city 's power and not just the wealthy. They took politics very seriously and made sure that everyone had a voiced opinion. Hard work and equality is what makes a nation outstanding.
Although the two city-states of Greece carried different motives they were both thought of as thinkers who loved beauty and multiple forms of art. Culture is one thing the two city states seemed to differ in greatly. Athens was thought to be a more progressive city-state. It’s known for art, architecture, drama, science advancements, philosophy, as well as literature. Though they were advanced in all of these fields they were behind on the rights of women.
Two of the most well-known and potent city-states in ancient Greece were Sparta and Athens. Despite belonging to the same civilization, they were very different from one another, particularly in terms of their social structures. * Slaves in Athens and helots in Sparta Athens and Sparta had different systems for dealing with enslaved populations. Athens was a democratic city-state where slavery was an integral part of its economy.
Undoubtedly it helped the citizens of Athens to broaden their minds, their cultural awareness and, what was probably most important, to develop
