Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Black Cat” uses inner thinking along w/ Lucille Fletcher’s “The Hitchhiker” while they have many big differences. They are largely similar in theme and purpose of author's craft moves.“The Black Cat” is about a man who harms cat because of drink. “The Hitchhiker is about a man named Adams who goes on a cross-country trip to LA. Both text share the same idea that they change without themselves knowing. For example, in “The Black Cat,” the narrator was changing because of drink. In “The Hitchhiker” Adams was going insane because he did not know who was following him.
