The Three Kings In Shakespeare’s, Macbeth, King Duncan states,“There’s no art To find the mind’s construction in the face” (1.4.12-13). People want a king who will tell them everything he can and will not betray them in a second. King Duncan would be honest to his county. He would not kill people, unlike Macbeth. Malcolm ran away and did not have the chance to become king, so who knows if he would have been a good one or not. These are some facts about the three kings on how loyal each of them are. King Duncan would be the best choice for the King of Scotland. First, my last choice would be Macbeth. There are many reasons why Macbeth would be my last choice to be king. A good king is not a person who kills people willy nilly just to get to …show more content…
There is also reasoning for my second choice. Malcolm's father was kind, and showed compassion for others. That is a good king, however that does not mean Malcolm would be just like his dad. After his dad got murdered and died, he just ran to England. When he came back from England he was suddenly ready to be king. That would sound kind of weird/sketchy to the country. Also, Malcolm could have been a nice compassionate person just trying to not get murdered like his father, and been a good king. On the other hand he could be the opposite and not been a very good king. No one knows for sure though, since he was never king. Lastly, a good king is Duncan. Duncan is a king who is loyal and and genres. Another reason Duncan is a good kind is, he has experience on being a king. None of the other kings have experience. One example on how he was loyal, is how he had given Lady Macbeth a gift for being the lady of the place. Duncan gave her that gift the night before they killed him. So obviously it doesn't seem like Duncan's generosity of giving her a gift and thanking Macbeth for what he has done for his country countless times, meant nothing to them. That just goes to show how cruel Lady Macbeth was, and how mean Macbeth had
Ducan is the best king Scotland sees throughout the play. He best displays the qualities of a good leader based on the qualities that Shakespeare believed were good qualities of a leader. Although we only see Duncan in the first scene of the play we can see Shakespeare's interpretations of a good king. He is one of them.
Kings Father was a very religious pastor and King became to take after him. In 1955, King became a doctor
King was also a good leader. Dr. King was quite the opposite of Malcolm X, though he did not like violence and showed people that you do not have to use violence to make a point, Dr. King never used violence in his contribution to the civil rights movement. kept a lot of people safe that is why a lot of people followed and listened to him because they knew there was a less likely chance for them to be harmed or killed while following Dr.king rather than Malcolm X in paragraph 5 Dr. King stated “not a single person has been killed in a non-violent demonstration” and he believed violence was an important part of the problem in America and it kept the races separated as in paragraph 9 Dr.king stated “violence causes more problems than it solves” but then again Malcolm X never asked for a fight he was just brought into one and never backed down from
All of these qualities listed above in addition to appointed by God can be used to define a good king. In Macbeth, two kings are seen on the Scottish throne with one more assumed to take the throne at the end of the
King Duncan was a great leader and the people liked him because he looked out for them and cared for them because he wasn’t selfish. “Conduct me to my host; we love him highly and shall continue our graces towards him. By your leave, hostess”(Act 1, Scene 6). This quote shows how the people see King Duncan as a person and a ruler. He respects the people and they do the same.
King Duncan, King Edward the Confessor, and Malcolm all rose to power through just means. All three were typically acclaimed to be pious, respectful rulers. King Duncan gave respect to Macbeth at the beginning of the play, telling him, “O Valiant cousin! Worthy gentlemen” (Shakespeare 1), in regard to his selflessness fighting with the leader of the Norwegian army. Malcolm was also a respectful ruler, he has a moral value for honesty.
Macbeth’s mental condition begins to dwindle as time goes on, starting with the murder of Duncan. At first, Macbeth is seen as a soldier that everyone aspires to be, strong, brave, and compassionate about his duties to the king. In act one scene two, Captain says, “...For brave Macbeth-well he deserves that name-...” This shows that he is a likeable person who has only the objective of serving his king. After meeting with the witches and hearing his prophecy, Macbeth starts to think about what it would be like to be king of Scotland.
No boasting like a fool; This deed I’ll do before this purpose cool, (iv, ii, 149-153) This shows macbeth's ambition because he is willing to kill kids and a whole family just so he can stay king. Macbeth is a tragic hero because he meet that first requirement which is Hamartia This shows the that Macbeth is very desperate to stay king. By now, Macbeth has changed a lot.
Macbeth shows that he is willing to kill King Duncan because he is interested in the witches prophecy, after they tell him that he will become ‘Thane of Cawdor’ and then the King.
King believed in “peace, no violence, and unity between all” (www.biography.com). In contrast, Malcolm X was all for violence. Malcolm X was born into a Muslim household. He relied heavily on his faith and was extremely influential towards pushing others to join the Islamic community. During his journey Malcolm X even “grew the Islamic population in America from 4,000 to 40,000 members by 1960” (www.biography.com), proving his dedication to the Muslim faith.
What is a false appearance? False appearances happen all the time. They can be defined as a facade, which is a false, superficial, or artificial appearance or effect. People try to hide their bad deeds by using a false appearance, attempting to make themselves look better than what said bad deeds make them appear to be. Macbeth is said to be a timeless play and in order to prove such a statement there will be examples used from the play and from our everyday life.
The Most to Blame for King Duncan’s Death In William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth it talks about a hero coming back from a viscous battle, from a group of rebels trying to take over the castle that the king’s lives in. After the hero comes back from a bloody battle he encounters three witches that tell him that he will have three titles one in the past thane of Glamis, one in the present thane of Cawdor, and one in the future king. After the witches tell Macbeth about the prophecy he gets the idea of wanting to be the new king and feels that Duncan should isn’t fit to be the king. After Macbeth and Lady Macbeth have a brief argument on wither Macbeth should kill Duncan.
She wanted the title of being queen and King Duncan was in her way of that, so she got into Macbeth’s head. Macbeth was reluctant at first, which also shows that he is not wholly evil. A true wholly evil person wouldn’t be reluctant about killing someone. Throughout the play, it is evidence that Macbeth is not wholly
“There is none but he whose being I do fear: and, under him, my genius is rebuked; as, it is said, Mark Antony 's was by Caesar” (III.i.57-60). Macbeth is angry about being under any of Duncan 's sons when it comes to who becomes the next king. Macbeth is being selfish and greedy, which he proves when he kills Duncan to take his place as king. Macbeth thinks about his line of succession, and thinks to himself “ No son of mine succeeding,if’t
