The Westing Game, a very interesting book with the plot and the character setting aligned perfectly. Yet, the movie and the book, not so matched perfectly. There are many similarities, but also many differences. In my opinion, the book was much better, I think it was better thought out and described. The plot, characters, and book itself was very different and similar at the same time. In the Westing Game book and movie, the point of view is different. In the book there is an anonymous narrator, but in the movie, Turtle is the narrator. In the book, the narrator’s name is not given and gives everyone’s thoughts and not just Turtle’s. In contrast to the book, Turtle is the narrator and she only gives her opinion and not the other character’s like in the book. Also, in the book the narrator telling the story and adding his or her own thoughts to what the characters are doing and perhaps saying. …show more content…
The characters that are missing in the movie are, Dr. Denton Deere, Chris’ parents, Flora Baumbach, Doug Hoo, and Jake Wexler does not play. In the book, Sydelle and Angela answer with America the Beautiful, but in the book Chris and Turtle answer with the song. The movie, in my opinion, fell behind in this part because the players in the book were different and bonded very well. Also, the players were thought to not bond and to fight but they all got along and did great things together. Also, with less characters, there are less problems for them to fix or things to find. For example, in the book, Turtle asks Doug to follow Otis and Crow, and things or problems like this make the book more
The movie gathered 10 heirs to the Westing house. The Westing Game novel and movie have differences, but they have similarities too. The Westing Game novel and movie have some similarities. In the novel and movie, Turtle found out the fourth person of Barney Northrup, Sandy McSouthers,

A lot of people turn to mysteries when they want something to read. The Westing Game, by Ellen Raskin, is a great one for all. The students at GLMS read it and then watched the movie. They were trying to figure out the answer to the riddle and they did. The Westing Game book and movie contain similarities and differences that are worth looking into.
The book Ender's Game is a great read. It has a strong and interesting plot that keeps you interested in the book, but on the other hand the movie is a lot different. I don’t feel the director did a bad job, but he left out and changed some things from the book that kind of change up the story. The book Ender’s Game takes place in space on a battleship far from Earth. The story follows a boy named Ender Wiggin, who is a child genius, that was selected by the military to save the Earth from being destroyed by the buggers, which is an alien race.
Introduction 100 words In this film called The Dressmaker directed by Jocelyn Moorhouse and a book called Jasper Jones written by Craig Silvey they will be comparing and contrasting the use of themes in the film and the book. Revenge in The Dressmaker happens when Tilly burned the town; in Jasper Jones Eliza burned her home. Then in Family Tilly and Molly has a rough start but when Tilly came back they turned out to be happy with each other, while in Jasper Jones Charlies mum and Charlie are happy at the start but went downhill very quickly when Laura disappeared. The themes are revenge, death, and family.
When talking about the genre of action and adventure High Noon and “The Most Dangerous Game” are at the top of mine and many other people’s list of favorite short stories. High Noon is a story based on a chaotic day in the life of Will Kane, that involves many similar plots, settings, and patterns to “The Most Dangerous Game” where the main character Sanger Rainsford is also fighting for his life. Many may read both publishings and find no similarities, but when you start to take the stories apart the similarities are breathtaking. One of the most important similarities between the short stories, High Noon and “The Most Dangerous Game”, are that of the plot. Both tales portray a very clear plot of the hunter becoming hunted.
It also sets the scene for how the book is going to carry on. Throughout the story there is seven main characters that have their
The Westing game is a book about sixteen heirs. Sam westing was murdered but by what heir. Thee one that finds the fourth wins the windfall. The sixteen heirs were picked by the “dead’’ Sam Westing In his will. Before you watch the movie read the book, the book is different than the movie.
Have you ever rode in a car for more than 24 hours? The plot in the book of “Watson’s Go To Birmingham”, is about a family going on a trip to Birmingham in 1963 and experience an event that makes them see how wrong color in the south are treated. The plot in the movie is more about how colored had been fighting for their rights and all the event leading up to everyone becoming equal. In “Watson’s Go To Birmingham”, lots of events changed the plot like the movie is focused mainly on Civil Rights while the book isn 't, but Joey leaves the church before it blows up in both, so there are some similarities. There are many differences between the book and the movie, like in the book they all stayed down at Grandma Sands, but in the movie the dad didn’t stay with them.
The Lottery is a short story about a town of people that will crowd and all the men will get a slip of paper all the paper is blank… besides one and that one has a black dot, so a lucky person will get it and if they have a kid older than 16 they have play this game, anyway the winner will get a “prize”. The Lottery story and The Lottery movie have many things that were different. The Lottery story is different from The Lottery movie by where it is located and where the event took place, such as in the story they were sacrificing someone in a large field while in the movie they were stopped by the building. If they didn’t have the building in the way she could have lived longer while if they did she would have died sooner.
Do you think you could handle having the fate of the world in your hands? Well, this prodigy, Ender Wiggin, did not think he could handle it, he could not even handle fighting with his brother Peter. In the book Enders Game, a science fiction novel, Ender Wiggin is called upon to train in the International Fleet to become a commander and fight against the buggers. In his journey he faces many obstacles, like his brother, bullies, and Command School.
Turtle is the person who solves the mystery of Sam Westing by using the quote “It's not what you have it's what you don't have that counts”. The Westing Game book and movie have many similarities. One of the big similarities are that Turtle still wins the game and she does it by using the quote, “it's not what you have it's what you don't have that counts”. The clues led Turtle
(Ray, 2015). Because the movie is so much more condensed than the book, many details are left out. The movie spends little time in District 12 and The Capitol. This eliminates some characters who were in the book from being in the movie. Madge Undersee was in the book but not in the movie.
In the end I found the film to be easier to understand vs the book as it was an easier and more straight forward plot line whereas in the book it seemed to jump around leading to constant flipping between stories and pages to get a better
Intertextuality is the interrelation between a newer work and an older work. These works are almost always pieces of literature. One phenomenal piece of literature I had the privilege of reading was a short story called A Most Dangerous Game written by Richard Connell. In this story, a legendary hunter named Bob Rainsford becomes stranded on a remote island and is rescued by a seemingly welcoming hunter named Count Zaroff, who asks Bob to stay the night with him in his castle-like home on the island. Not thinking twice, Bob graciously accepts the invitation.
