Many cultures have different beliefs and different stories of how the world was created but the Aztec creation story is an interesting story to read. According to the myth the Aztecs have a story in which deals with the elements and how they came to be. The Aztec Creation Myth contains the following archetypes: the ritual, The unhealable wound, the battle between good and evil, and the task. The Aztec myth starts with a dual god named Ometecuhtli/ Omecihuatl creating themselves then he/she has kids (Huitzilopochtli, Quetzalcoatl, Tezcatlipoca, and Xipe Totec) who represent the four directions. They had created water but also a monster named Cipactli even though they knew that Cipactli would become a source to the cosmos in a strange way.
In this paragraph I’m going to talk about how the Inca, Mayan, and Aztec are similar. The Inca, Mayans, and Aztec all believed in many gods. They all have a moon god and a sun god but they have different names. Like the sun and moon god. The Mayan, Aztec and the Inca have very similar gods.
Because Gilgamesh was set around the time of late Babylonian or early Sumerian society, the Babylonian and Sumerian cultures also play a role in shaping the world into what is is today (Mark). These societies have developed inventions and ideas that have significantly affected today’s world such as, government, art, wheels mathematics, and many more (Garone). The cultures and themes from the story are displayed all across the text, and after studying Gilgamesh’s culture and story, it is evident that there are numerous cultural contribution to modern day society, such as gods, seeking revenge or love, and destroying enemies. More importantly, throughout the text, Gilgamesh was in a predicament trying to figure out the meaning of life and the value of human accomplishment (Mark). The culture of mankind has always been to seek the meaning of life, no matter the time period, religion, or community.
Religion can be defined as beliefs and sentimental values of a particular community in a society. These beliefs trace their origins from the ancient texts present in that community. These texts generally contains about the deities and gods in the historic era. These texts portray the mythological deities and gods with supernatural powers and how the earth was created by the almighty using these powers. Almost each and every religious texts talk about their god and how their god created this world and human beings.
So in this paragraph I will be talking or comparing the Mayan, Aztec, and Inca. First, I 'm going to compare their Economy or what their trade system is or what food they grow and what type of food they eat. Then I will talk about their religion like what their gods are or what they believe in. then I will then do their government and cover what all of them worship like a king or a queen. But instead, they chose to create whole religions around this myth, as well as the many others from all around Egypt. This creates a interesting question about Egypt and Rome. With various groups in society throughout time we are now able to look back at several different aspects and outlooks through these creation myths that still live in some way, shape, or form.
