The Nurse’s actions and advice are all for the benefit of the Capulets. The Friar, however, is desperate for peace. “Come, come with me, and we shall make short work / For by your leaves, you shall not stay alone / till Holy Church incorporate two in one” (2.6.35-37). Once Romeo and Juliet are both in Friar Lawrence’s cell, he hurries along with the wedding.
The Nurse helped out Juliet when her Parents could not. “As I told you my young lady bade me inquire you out; what she bade me say, I will keep to myself”(Act II.II.148-149). The Nurse has offered to keep the secret of the marriage between the two young ones and she will not tell anyone about it. After the Nursze comes back from visting Romeo she finds ways to not tell Juliet the good news instead she starts talking about other things, the Nurse also knows how delighted juliet will be once when she finds out about the wedding “Your love says, like an honest gentleman, and a courteous, and a kind,...where is your mother?”(Act II.II.55-57). The day of Mercutio and Tybalt 's death she did not think Romeo would do such a thing, and now her thoughts about Romeo have changed instead she thinks Romeo would end up hurting her young lady.
In one respect I’ll thy assistant be, For this alliance may so happy prove To turn your households’ rancor to pure love.” Friar Laurence’s poor advice in advising marriage eventually results in the death of Romeo and Juliet. Furthermore, the Nurse also plays a huge role in the death of Romeo and Juliet. When Romeo kills Tybalt in revenge for Mercutio's life, Juliet reports the scene back to the Nurse. Later, Prince Capulet suggests that Juliet should marry Paris.
The nurse has raised Juliet ever since she was a little girl. “ Faith, I can tell her age unto an hour” ( I,iii, 13). This quote is telling the reader that the nurse has been with Juliet for a very long time and knows a lot more about her than Lady Capulet. “ And then my husband took up the child. ‘ Yea,’ quoth he,’dost fall upon thy face?
As it states on page 166 “ I think it best you marry County Paris”. This proves that with the banishment of Romeo, Juliet's lover she would never want to remarry which foreshadows the death of Juliet. In conclusion, the nurse is responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet by Keeping Secrets, and telling Juliet to Marry Paris.
The Nurse and Friar Lawrence: Two Sides of the Same Story Both Friar Lawrence and the Nurse play integral roles as mentors and confidantes in the unity of Romeo and Juliet, and although the manner in which they unite the two young lovers differs, the two minor characters are decidedly critical to the plot. The Nurse, Juliet’s confidante, is one of the few characters to tell Juliet to openly seek out men and says, “Go, girl, seek happy nights/ to happy days.” , before the masquerade ball (1.4.114). This openness to Juliet expressing her own sexuality in an active role is critical to the young lover’s unity. Because of the Nurse’s encouragement, Juliet was not reluctant and demure when she first encounters Romeo.
(2.4.168-173) The Nurse actually gave thought to Juliet’s well-being unlike the Friar, who remained ignorant to the dangers of Romeo and Juliet’s relationship. Following Romeo’s exile, the Nurse promised Juliet that she would seek him out to “... comfort [Juliet]. I wot well where he is. Hark ye, your Romeo will be here at night.
After the news of Romeo being exiled is delivered to Juliet, Juliet breaks down. The nurse then tells Juliet she will “find Romeo/ to comfort [her]” (52). The nurse once again takes action to bring Romeo
The Nurse appeared to be the most affected because she raised juliet since she was a baby. The Nurse lost her own daughter so juliet was valuable to her. She felt heartbroken and and miserable. She said, “Most lamentable day,
She did not tell anyone that Romeo and Juliet were married. She should have told someone that they got married because they could have blamed her. The nurse helped her to get to Romeo. The Nurse would try anything to help Romeo and Juliet see each other. Their families hat each other with a passion.
Secondly, Romeo and Juliet rely on Nurse. Nurse is a big part in Romeo and Juliet because she passes lots of information to and from Romeo and Juliet. For instance, At the party, the Nurse receives the information of simply Romeos name when Juliet’s asking. “His name is Romeo” -Nurse (l.v.134.)
The nurse(juliet 's) informs Romeo that Juliet is a Capulet and that bothered him a lot. Meanwhile Juliet was worried because Romeo was a Montague. That night Romeo climbed the garden wall into Juliet 's garden and Juliet was saying her thoughts out loud. Romeo and juliet were talking and she told him that he had to promise that he would be true to their love no matter what even if there families had issues. Benvolio and Mercutio were in the streets the next day and tybalt told them to tell him where Romeo was at so they can duel
(Scene 3 act 1 line 1) Also the nurse could be the one to blame, because she helped Romeo and Lady Juliet sneak around and see each other. She new about the marriage between the two young ones! “ Hi to your chamber, i’ll find Romeo to comfort you, i wot well where he is. Hark he your Romeo will be here at night.”
Juliet faces a challenge when she wants to know the name of the man whom she fell in love with and without Nurse discovering it. To find out the name of the individual, she misleads her Nurse, “In order to find out, she devises a cleverly indirect ploy, first inquiring from the Nurse about the identities of two other young men in whom she actually has no interest. Only after she has learned their names, and thus diverted the Nurse’s curiosity, does she ask about Romeo. ”(Garber,47). Juliet starts showing signs of independence by asking questions after falling in love with Romeo.
Also romeo decides to make fun of the nurse to impress benvolio and mercutio. Then the nurse tends to believe that romeos a bad person which resulted to her trying to convince juliet into liking paris instead of
