Has anyone ever wanted to make the world a better place? Many people across the world are trying to make the world a better place. People from America, Europe, Pakistan, and all over earth. Many people such as doctors and anti child laborers, young and old are trying to make the world better. The books “Mountains Beyond Mountains,” by Tracy Kidder, and “Iqbal,” by Francesco d'adamo are quite similar because the main character’s goals are both to make the world a better place. “Mountains Beyond Mountains” by Tracy Kidder Is a very inspiring book about a man from America that goes around the world in pursuit of helping people. Paul Farmer, the main character, is a brilliant man that believes in fighting for the certain defeat. The certain defeat is the fight for people and countries that don't have any money for healthcare. Another character is Tracy Kidder, and Jim Kim. The book “Iqbal” has many characters, but there are only a few main ones, such as Iqbal, Fatima, Hussain, Eshan, and Maria. Hussain Khan is the carpet factory owner, so he owns Iqbal, Fatima, Maria, and several others. Iqbal, Maria, Fatima, and Maria all work in the carpet factory for Hussain Khan, and Iqbal runs away, trying to escape. In the book Iqbal, and the other carpet factory workers are trying to escape from Hussain Khan. Iqbal Escaped, and with the help of authorities, arrested Hussain, and became free. In Khaled Hosseini’s award-winning novel, The Kite Runner, we follow the life of a young Afghani boy named Amir, who makes decision and acts in ways that not only impact his own life, but also drastically change the life of the one’s surrounding him. Many of Amir’s actions can be attributed to the main underlying theme in this novel, cruelty. We see Amir go from being the victim of perceived cruelty, to being the one causing the cruelty, to the one fighting the cruelty at the end of the novel.
The hardships experienced by Ali show the alienation she experienced because of her differences. Ali maintained a different belief system to those around her. Her behaviours, beliefs and opinions made her alienated. There is a point in the book where she attempts to escape to the Turkish border, the enforcement of the Muslim culture had become too much for her; she wanted to the freedom to express her western lifestyle.
