In the “sound of thunder” Eckles was a boy. He was the main character. In “being prey” Plum wood was a girl. Also she was the main character to. Those are the only character in both of the stories.
What if mistakes lead to deadly situations and life could turn to death? In both “A Sound of Thunder” and “Being Prey” the main characters are lead into deadly situations and their lives could be taken. Both of these main characters have problems leading to a deadly problem. Each of the main characters, both were put into situations where their lives could be taken from them. These stories have similarities and differences of the main characters and their circumstances that led them into a deadly situation.
Being able to comprehend and do what someone is telling you can really help you in the future. If you don't listen to what people tell you it could lead to consequences. If someone disobeys the rules someone else has given them it could lead to serious problems, including death. In Ray Bradbury's short story "The Sound of Thunder" the main character is murdered and the future is changed because of Eckel's own stupidity, the anger of the safari guide, and the lax screening process of safari, inc. and now, Eckel's made a bad decision by stepping off the path, a decision that could change the future. Eckel's made a huge mistake by stepping off the path, which was very stupid of him to do that.
In the short stories “A Sound of Thunder” by Ray Bradbury and “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, both main characters are great, experienced and risky hunters. Travis from “A Sound of Thunder” takes people through a time machine back in time to hunt dinosaurs. General Zaroff from “The Most Dangerous Game” has found a new interest instead of hunting animals, and he now hunts people. Both of these stories involve hunting out of the ordinary things and show why each character chooses to do so. Although Travis and General Zaroff are both great, experienced hunters, they differ in the game they hunt, their attitudes towards others, and their motivation for shooting people.
What would you do if a giant reptile was after you? In these stories, two people are put to the test. Many people wouldn’t know what to do. They need to figure out what to do next. Many things are challenging the main characters.
In the Story A Sound of Thunder, Ray Bradbury I believe Eckles did deserve what happened to him at the end of the story, because he did not follow one of the two simple rules and and changed history. At the beginning of this short story the hunters were told to stay on the path because they might dispatch an animal that was significant to the future this was stated when Travis says, “Stay on the Path. Don’t go off it. I repeat. Don’t go off.
The Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury is a futuristic science fiction short story about a hunter named Eckles, he visits the Time Safari, a company that sends you to the past. Eckles travels back in time with a group of three to shoot and kill a prehistoric dinosaur. Nethergrave is about a young boy named Jeremy, who plays sports, and has a group of internet friends. Later, Jeremy is faced with a decision whether to stay in the real world, or leave it for the virtual introduced by a great being. This critical response will be comparing, and contrasting both stories by making points such as, how the stories fit into the science fiction genre, the characterization between Eckles and Jeremy, the theme/message of the stories, dialogue, and writing style.
In A Sound of Thunder we saw many uses of foreshadowing. The author Ray Bradbury uses foreshadowing through repetition and many small hints in the story. His unique style is seen throughout the piece in many places. He foreshadows Eckels’s death, someone stepping off the path, and that time would change if something did not happen the way it was supposed too.
The Foundation of a Story In “A Sound of Thunder” by Ray Bradbury, the setting is slightly peculiar. The story takes place in the future and the past. It begins and ends in the year 2055 at a time travel hunting business, however, the majority of the story takes place millions of years before, during the time of the dinosaurs. Throughout the story, the setting sets the tone, motivates the characters actions, and leads to the theme.
Ray Bradbury’s short story “A Sound of Thunder” shows us that a small mistake in the past could cause huge uncontrollable change in the future. Eckels traveled back to the area when dinosaurs were living. He did not listen to his guide’s warning and stepped on the ground of the past. He brought a dead butterfly back to the real world without noticing. Because of this, they found the current world was different.
What if you have been given rules to follow, Eckel’s and Plumwood both were given rules that they were supposed to follow. But they didn’t so they were put into danger. In “Sound Of Thunder” Eckel’s stepped off then path and killed a butterfly and it changed the future.
In the short story “A Sound of Thunder” a man by the name of Eckels pays thousands of dollars to time travel to see dinosaurs. This short story is essentially all about how the different actions people make have special consequences in return. In the story Eckels tends to not listen to what the time travel guide directs him to do which leads to hazardous results. Ray Bradbury is trying to show his audience that you must listen and think before acting on a situation so you do not have a harsh consequence.
The two stories “Being Prey” and “A Sound of Thunder” they have many similarities and differences between the three topics the following paragraphs will be about. The two stories are comparing the conflicts, settings, and main characters. In the new paragraphs I will be comparing these topics between the two readings. The paragraphs will tell about how both of the stories show similar ideas and differences on each topic.
