Candy is one of the best inventions in human civilization and is one of the most favored treats of all time. Two of the most well known candies are Jolly Rancher and Tootsie Roll. There are many arguments about which one is better in different aspects. I personally love Jolly Ranchers. In my opinion, I believe Jolly Ranchers are better than Tootsie Rolls.

As for appearance, Jolly Ranchers are offered in more than 10 different colors based on flavors. We first taste with our eyes. Eating with our eyes influences what our tongues may taste. In order for us to appreciate food, It is important that our food is appealing to our eyes. The more colorful a candy is, the more our eyes will appreciate it. With bright colors like green, red, yellow, and purple, Jolly Ranchers are quite pleasant to our eyes and enhance our taste. In addition to the candy, the transparent wrapper is also quite pleasing to look at. It allows us see what the candy looks like without opening it. Tootsie Rolls do not look horrible. However, compared to Jolly Ranchers, plain brown is boring to look at. Therefore, Jolly Ranchers have a more appealing appearance. …show more content…

As far as the wrapper is concerned, the crinkling of the wrapper as you unwrap a Jolly Rancher adds to the anticipation of tasting a very exhilarating candy. On the other hand, the waxy wrapper of Tootsie Rolls does nothing to make us anticipate an exciting experience. The Jolly Rancher wrapper is far superior to the Tootsie Roll wrapper. The Jolly Rancher is a hard candy which allows us to experience a long lasting flavor. You put a Jolly Rancher in your mouth and enjoy the flavor as it slowly melts.
