Tensions between the US Environmental Protection Agency and the steel industry have been present since the formation of the Environmental Protection Agency in the December of 1970, but in recent years with more and more laws cracking down on limiting the emissions from the companies a lot more is at stake for the stakeholders. The Environmental Protection Agency laws affect many people, including the Environmental Protection Agency itself, the steel producing companies, and the employees who work at the steel producing companies. The effects of the laws cause tensions to develop because each stakeholder is invested in what happens in relation to the EPA and steel industry.
