My strongest point, as determined from the profile, is in Category 6, the “Think Win-Win” habit. During my time in my current job, I believe I have developed a stronger “win together” attitude as part of my management personality. I also have found it to be very personally and professionally important to help others within my group to develop their skills and help them seek their true potential. I have worked with various people who do not have confidence in themselves and their work and have the mindset that making mistakes is bad and will end negatively for them, like getting fired for something that is generally unimportant. I have encouraged them to be more proud of their work and to not sweat the small things and learn from their mistakes. …show more content…
Now that people in my group see me as a leader and a management figure, it has helped me to naturally want to grow my leadership abilities. I want to be able to trust my team and also want them to trust me as a leader and mentor. When discussing issues and brainstorming ideas for new processes, I always make sure to have everyone voice their opinion. Just because I have a good idea as a leader does not mean someone else on my team does not have a better, more effective idea. I truly believe in working together as a team and not being a harsh manager who does not care about others’ opinions. I want my team to enjoy their job and be proud of what they are doing. Everyone should be open, at least with their manager, in order to have the more enjoyable and satisfying experience in the
Competency Standard III To support social and emotional development and to provide positive guidance Functional Area 8: Self I provide an emotionally and physically safe and secure environment where the children can thrive and develop their sense of self. I greet each child by name, smiling and giving them one-on-one attention. I show the children that I respect them by acknowledging their feeling and helping them express those feelings appropriately. We follow a routine, and I discuss and explain when there will be a change or disruption to that schedule.
Competency Statement I To establish and maintain a safe, healthy, learning environment. My goal in a child care facility would be to make sure everything is safe for the children along with the staff who would work there. To make sure that the children would want to come back and feel safe at the facility. I would want everything to be healthy for the children as well as the staff also. No one would want their children to come to an unhealthy facility.

The goal I set for myself was to exercise and to try to work out three times a week. My goal was not to work out to lose weight but instead to be more active, to feel less stressed, and to be and feel healthier. Throughout the semester I had some successes and some difficulties as well. When I first started working towards accomplishing my goal it was very easy to follow my plan. I initially came up with a schedule so that I would know what times worked best for me to workout.

I believe leadership is a relationship. The relationship with supervisors, subordinates, and peers is an ongoing process that takes practice to become a better leader. Along with practice we must re-evaluate our leadership philosophy throughout our careers. Upon my own re-evaluation I am renewing my aspiration and commitment to our team. I expect to focus on listening to everyone for their value added to the team, learning from all of our experiences, then lead by challenging the process and promoting a common
Such leaders create an inspiring vision of the future, motivate and develop their followers to achieve it (“How Good Are Your Leadership Skills”, n.d.). But first, you should have clarity of your own identity and knowledge. Once you have your own foundation with being a leader, I think that as a leader you can transition and understand the behavior of others that may be on your team. When acknowledging others on the team, I think that it is important to identify strengths and weaknesses of others and the team. As you can see, I have outlined what I believe makes a great and effective leader.
A leader's style and approach influence team dynamics, morale, and productivity. By recognizing how my personality traits, such as openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, and agreeableness, influence my leadership style, I can leverage these strengths to inspire and motivate my team. My openness to new ideas and perspectives encourages innovation and fosters a culture of creativity. The conscientiousness I possess ensures that tasks are completed with diligence and organization, promoting a sense of responsibility and accountability within the team. Additionally, my agreeableness allows for effective collaboration and relationship-building, contributing to a harmonious and supportive work
As a leader, I have the greatest opportunity to grow when delegating tasks because I tend to take on the duties of other team members. This is counterproductive since I do more than I can handle while the group waits idly, making the process inefficient. I do this due to the pressure of reaching our goal quickly. My actions not only hurt the group, I hurt myself in the process as well. I should trust the people I work with.
As a person who enjoys taking on leadership, I will ensure to increase my leadership skills in the event I will be participating in more Team

Specifically, I need to allow my mind to be open to accepting a more participative style of leadership, which I believe is actually more effective than simply relying on myself to make all the decisions. My estimated time of completion of this goal will be three weeks. At this time, I will measure my success by conducting a group discussion where a common company problem will be presented, in which we need to develop a response together, instead of from only receiving my input. I will be graded (by a fellow leader) based on my reactions to other group members' inputs, as well as my ability to understand why they feel that their solutions work the best. I will also be graded based on the level of support I give the group, and on the limited amount of interruptions I have on the group during the meeting.
I think the importance of showing others in the organization that they can depend on me no matter the situation, is a great way to build trust. I think it is important for people to know that my word is good and I back my word up with actions. By following through on my commitments I will build a trusted team where people know they matter and that they can count on me. Being dependable is of high importance; if people cannot depend on me, they will never truly trust me as a leader. Competency I believe competency is a vital value to leading an effective group.
