British Telecom (BT) is one of the world's leading communications services companies. Serving the needs of customers in the UK and in 180 countries worldwide. (Our Company, 2018) Their services include phone line, mobile, broadband, TV services and they service both residential and business customers. Much of BT’s success has been due to their adoption of the Agile process and their 90-day delivery process. A huge change from their previous process that generally delivered most products over 12 months. Adoption of the agile process has allowed BT to reduce the time to solution delivery, adding greater value to their customers. This shorter cycle and improved value give them a competitive advantage in the market.

First, their use of the system improves customer relations and strengthens the value of their products and their brand. A solid track record of consistently meeting or exceeding customer demands will make customers less likely to choose other companies and make it more difficult for others to enter the market. Second, BT’s large size and efficiency give them an advantage when it comes to the power of suppliers. There are a limited number of suppliers offering such services and the agile system allows BT to be even more efficient and effective. The ability to reduce costs and delivery times also affect customers who are price sensitive and the customization reduces the number of substitute products. It also makes substitutes more expensive. Their “hot house” session allows them to work closely with customers to get ideas, input, and system requirements. It also allows them to build closer relationships with their customers. For operations, the agile system helps streamline and prioritize a project. Benefits can be seen much faster and are implemented incrementally with prioritized features. This process is faster and has the potential to reduce costs. Because of the incremental release, the customer gets a usable product much faster than with a traditional development system. The customer will get a usable system quickly that will continually be updated until it is finished within the 90-day
