Statement of Purpose

When I think about the different realms of science and technology, it is hard to think of a domain that is going to change the world as much as advanced software will, in the decades ahead.
From my school days, I have always been attracted towards computers.

But the fate was having its own ideas. When I was entering Undergraduate courses 8 years ago, there was a major recession in IT field. There was news, that many IT professionals, who went abroad from India, were suffering from recession, their jobs being snatched, and many of them who returned home were jobless. So many stories were circulating such as computer engineers committing suicides etc; and my parents would not allow me to join computer engineering branch. I was put in Civil Engineering branch which they thought was an evergreen field. My dreams were shattered just like that!
I was pursuing my course without my heart, but determined to change my career at any cost to computer field.

Although, I got admission in a field which was not much of interested to me, I started applying my computer interest in civil engineering subjects too. I gained knowledge of Auto CAD software with which I could design civil structures on computer instead of paper, allowing me to innovate my design in numerous ways like viewing design from different angles, viewing it in 2D, 3D and many more. This interest and knowledge led me to acquire 1st prize in design competition of our college fiesta …show more content…

The motivation behind this change was an inclination to obtain some global exposure and enhance my programming & designing skills. After joining into Cognizant, I was asked to work with the Quality Assurance team. Taking the management’s decision in a positive stride, I enthusiastically looked forward towards my new responsibilities. I led several projects here with resounding success earning a lot of appreciation from the UK based clients (Lloyds Bank). This was genuinely a very rich learning experience. I understood entire testing life cycle of a product from requirement gathering and analyses, test planning, test design, defect management, test execution and subsequent issuance of reports. Also, I have gained adequate knowledge of UI designing & testing Next generation application (Native app), Next generation browsers (Mobile web app) and tablet browsers across various Mobile and tablet devices on Android, IOS and
