As a determined and persistent math learner, every step in my life resulted from my love for math and, in reward, won me better opportunity to do math, and finally lead me to computational applied mathematics. As one of the fortunate who had experience in several institutes, including UC Berkeley, UCLA, and find great interest in research, I am convinced that doctoral study in Mathematics at UCLA will provide me with the training I need to conduct research at the highest possible level. From elementary school to high school, I enjoyed intensive trainings to prepare for nationally renowned competitions. While the medals I earned in mathematics competitions have opened up doors for me from middle to college, the knowledge and experiences gained from years of unremitting dedication to the craft of problem solving have proven to be the most rewarding result. I was enrolled in the Physics department at the first year in Fudan University for some unexpected reasons.
I have interested to problem-solving in computing and it will be exciting to solve the task. I learned programming skills, system analysis and design skills and listening skills through my courses and experiences from industrial training. My experiences of industrial training in a hardware maintenance company made that I could worked and effectiveness under stress environment. I believe with those knowledge I will have a well status and prepare for a career. Criterion 8 To become a programmer, I will need to complete my degree and improve self-awareness in first year in college.
The attraction of artificial intelligence for me lies in its breadth of applicability, both as a method of problem solving in itself and in a symbiotic integration with other areas of computer science. A broad spectrum of applications exist within the artificial intelligence field, ranging from intelligent non-player controlled characters in computer game software to a ubiquitous computing solution that intelligently reacts to a variety of users. This diversity is one of the main reasons that I feel compelled to pursue artificial intelligence further. While I have striven to develop my understanding of artificial intelligence during my undergraduate education, the choreographed requirements of a bachelor's degree have restricted my research to only a minute sample of artificial intelligence’s applications. During my exposure to the field, I have often been unsatisfied with the level of interaction artificial intelligence displays in response to prompts of varying complexity.
As I learnt new concepts, I appreciated solving difficult problems and made sure they helped me form a framework for solving new ones. As a part ofacademic project, I implemented the concepts acquired by developing a Human Resource Management System which facilitates employee-HR interaction. Another academic project which is in progress is Multi Language Block Ciphering using Two Dimensional Substitution Array which will be dealing with the cryptography techniques. We are doing a career day at school I choose 3 career jobs. These are mathematical engineer, chemical engineer, and youtuber. I really likes these jobs because I love math, science, and youtuber, I also want a job that I would love to do everyday and not a job that i would hate for the rest of my life. My interest in the Computer Science major at Carnegie Mellon was first piqued while I was in the Microsoft Student Partners Program, where I met a Technical Evangelist from Microsoft who graduated from the course. I had heard from him how the nation’s best graduates of Computer Science were often recruited from Carnegie Mellon. Naturally, this keen interest sparked off by my encounter with him did not just stop there as I am now sitting at my desk writing my CMU supplementary essays. Over the past 5 years at WDC, I have developed a special interest in Programming Languages, Advanced Software Testing and Advanced Software Engineering. In addition I have strong desire to extend my knowledge on programming development, thus I decided to pursue master’s degree in order to gain more experience and exposure to an excellent research environment. I believe it will also serve to give direction to my eventual goal of a career as new technology developer. In the future, I see myself working in R&D department of a famous company in computer technology where I get an opportunity to work with many challenges. I wish to gather experiences on software development in order to be mentor and inspiration for youths in my country.
It was not uncommon for me to be disinterested or disengaged during many classes; that is, many classes but math. Upon entering high school, my love for math expanded as my horizons were broadened and I was exposed to advanced levels of math, such as pre-calculus, calculus 1-2 and trigonometry. It was my passion for design and my love of mathematics pushed me towards the degree I have chosen. My career plan is to be an architect. It combines design with mathematics, all of which interest me.
To me, engineering is a discipline full of numerous rewarding possibilities such as a high amount of salary right after earning a bachelor’s degree from a university. Furthermore, engineers are able to solve worldwide problems by utilizing the application of mathematics and science combined. In this process, engineers are tasked to simply analyze a problem using their intellectual and critical thinking skills and then come up with a solution to the primary problem. Therefore, the dream and quest of becoming a software engineer after college graduation has actually grown into a larger temptation for me. The software engineering industry is one of the brilliant environments of engineering where I can develop and test programs for the sake of benefiting mankind.
My interest in science has forced me to enroll in AP Chemistry and AP Calculus to supplement my scientific endeavors. I believe my high level of proficiency in both classes, will enable me to assist others achieve their desired level of achievement at Governor’s Honors Program. My involvement in the field of engineering through Robotics and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair will also assist me in providing practical applications for science at Governor’s Honor Program. When my group turned the project in, and it was shown to the class my teacher rewrote the assignment according to what we did and used it as an example of great work when recruiting new people.
