INTRODUCTION

1.1. Background of Study
English literature is a popular major in a university; there are some main elements, which are placed in English letters such as literature, language teaching, and linguistics. Literature or the science of culture art itself taken form Greek word that has meaning to the things imagination sense that is presented by various media events the writing drama (play), novel, film, etc. Literature is distinguished by a set of conventions according to which readers accept that what they are reading is not literary true (Cavanagh: 2010). A literary work came from the imagery, experiences of the author itself.
Today, there are many literary works produced by human, either classic or modern literature. There are three major form of literature are prose, drama and poetry. Prose is an inclusive term for all discourse, spoken, or written, which is not patterned into line of either metric verse or free verse. Drama is the form of composition for performance on a stage in which actors take the roles of the character, perform the indicated action, and utter the written dialogue. Poetry is a form of literary art, which uses form of literary art, which uses aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language to evoke meanings.
