The business idea I will be developing is setting up a unisex salon. The business will be adopting the contractor type of business model. It will be serving males and females of all ages. The business idea will be classified into three sections. The first section will concentrate on the business idea i.e. the services that will be offered, the location, the targeted customers, the competitors, the cost, the financial statement and the break even analyses for the salon. The second section will be concentrating on the type of business model that the salon will be adopting, the main features of a business model such as the Key Elements of Business Model and how they will be used in the salon. The first element is the Value Proposition. M£J Unisex Salon is a salon who provides services to males and females of all ages particularly around North hill. There is a great need for the services provided by the salon in that location. Those needs are hair braiding and styling services. By the reason of the high demand, quality services provided customers can be willing to pay any amount. The salon will provide a comfortable environment for customers by the provision of leather seats, television, VCD player, newspapers, magazines and use the most advanced equipment as stated in the business idea, this can be related to the PEST tool of Technology. They will also combine the marketing mix by offering promotions and discounts for students. As long as the organisational development is concerned, the organisational structures which can also be referred to as the management team of the salon include the different races, culture and religion of workers that the salon employs which can relate to the Sociological aspect to the PEST tool. In extension, another additional structure is the recruiting of professional employees in the salon and in including the training of workers that the salon engages in. This is on the grounds that everyone engaged in the running or the offering of services in this business is a leader.
The risks which can also be defined as threats involved in the salon are portrayed in the SWOT Analyses above in figure 3. In addition, the risks of the salon can include the PEST tool. The PEST tool can consist of the Political aspect that can be change in Government which may result in new rules or higher taxes for the salon, Economic aspect can be economic recession-low inflation- low disposable income which can cause low demand for the services offered by the salon.
