Rewind to the NFL Wild Card Round earlier this year. The date was January 9th; The Pittsburgh Steelers were facing off against the Cincinnati Bengals in an intense conference matchup for the first playoff round. This game was special since both teams are in the AFC North conference, so both teams were playing with a chip on their shoulder. The game was a hard-fought battle that came right down to the end. On the last gasp drive made by the Steelers to try and win the game something extraordinary happened.
Recently over the previous decades, concussions have increasingly received attention in the world of sports. A concussion is a serious head injury that can happen to any player, and in just about any sport. Indeed, it has been happening to a countless number of athletes for centuries. However, it is also important to note that a concussion can also take place outside of sports, meaning it can happen to anybody. For instance, there have been incidents where a person tripped while running, fell, and the impact of their head’s contact with the ground has caused a concussion.

Concussion Should football rules ban tackling? Tackling football should not be banned because concussions can stop a player from playing, but it’s a personal choice to play football. Just a couple months ago there was football player ruled out name Brandin Cooks remained out for the remaining of the super bowl on February 4, 2018. Tackling should not be banned because it’s a person chooses to play the sport also the person who chooses to make helmet to helmet that person has to pay the hospital fee. Tackling football should not be banned because concussions can stop a player from playing, but it’s a personal choice to play football in bad conditions.
Throughout America’s history, football has been well known and a popular sport. Throughout the years, however, the safety of helmets have always been in question. As time went on, the amount of injuries significantly went down the helmets did not solve the problem completely. On November 6, 1869 the first "football" game took place. In my research I found that helmets were not mandatory until the 30’s which left a lot of players open to injury especially when half the players were wearing helmets and the other half were not while playing on the field.
There are estimated to be between 1.6 and 3.8 million sports related concussions in the United States every year (prevacious.com). Is there a way to stop this? Team doctors are responsible for the long term effects of concussions in football players. Most of the concussions are coming from football, the concussion rate is 64 to 76.8 and 33 percent of these injuries are happening in practiced and not in games (Headcasecpmpany.com). Most of these concussions are happening because they can 't defend themselves from the hard hits or the balls hitting them or just falling to the ground hard.

A simple tap to the head can change someone’s life forever. Athletes like to slap each other’s helmets and shake another player’s head after a good play, what they do not know is that they could give that player a concussion. It is likely that every individual will receive a concussion at some point in their life. Research has been done to look at the effects that concussions have on the lives of professional athletes and now the focus has changed to the effects of concussions of children. Although helmet technology has drastically improved as there has been more concussion awareness the past decade, concussions are still one of the top injuries. A smart helmet that contains an electromagnetic field to repel helmet to helmet contact would significantly decrease the amount of head and neck trauma. The helmets will utilize opposite magnetic fields to ensure that when the helmets do get close together they will be repelled from each other. A concussion is a traumatic injury of the brain, they can also be as a result of a sudden blow on the body. Such a blow may cause the head to jerk back and forth in a rapid motion. This may cause a bounce or twist within the skull, which may over stretch the brain, cause cell damage and alter chemical functioning within the brain.
The only reason why people wear headgear because if you had a soccer game and it went bad because you had a concussion and the next time you have a game than you think that you’re going to get hurt and then they hesitate and get worried. there’s no need to wear a headgear when it causes you to much trouble. Concussion and repeated heading are two separate entities. People think it’s the same place.
Protective head gear is often worn by plays who have gotten a concussion before and they wear it in games for safety reason, but there is no reason why someone who has not gotten a concussion before cannot wear protective head gear to prevent themselves from getting a concussion. Head gear provides padding around the forehead of the player where they are supposed to head the ball. Actually, damaging head injuries like concussion come from a hard surface hitting anywhere on the head, like as two players going for the same ball in the air. When the two player’s heads collide, one or both might get a concussion, but the contact area is usually not where the player would head the ball. A lot of head injuries happen when an elbow hits the opponent on the side of their head.
