The existence of philosophical sin during long centuries would be a great debate for each individual. Literally the comprehensions of the sin divine people’s min into two sides. But there is never pro or con side because every person explains according to his own life and private examples. Also it did not pass along our one of the most famous historic of philosophy Socrates and St. Augustine in their latest compositions. They say that the “Sin” is a thing that harms one’s life in abstract way. Augustine’s book which is called Confession is autobiographic since it was written according his life, and after reading the Confession we can deduce that what were his understandings about sin in his different life ages. Moreover we can find out, how a sinful life he had and how could overcome his sinful life. The main point is that, he continued doing sinful actions even being acknowledged about sin. He liked doing sinful things; he was getting a pleasure when he was doing something which was forbidden and this continued until he went to university. At University he read many books where he found Cicero’s book which is called Hortensius. This book greatly changed his thoughts about sin and inspired him to believe in God. Young Augustine and elderly Scrooge both have an imbalance between superficial success and internal happiness. In Augustine’s anecdote about his encounter with a drunk beggar he is miffed by the happiness of a seemingly hopeless beggar. Despite his success in his career, Augustine’s internal struggle to find meaning prevents him from achieving happiness. On the other hand, Scrooge requires three trips with ghosts to realize that there is a better path of existence.
In the excerpt of the story, Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, written by Jonathan Edwards, this author thinks that all men are bound for hell unless they are “born again”. He also shows that both he and God have a negative view of mankind. Finally, his writing shows that the author has a strong devotion and fear of God. While the author portrays God as the almighty with hate towards those who are not born again, I believe the Author is incorrect and has a very narrow view of God that can’t embrace all people and all religions.
In relationships, people argue or misunderstand one another, but in this relationship God is always right -- as He is in everything He does. In our relationship with God our faults, or hindrances, are sin. The “greatest sin” has been argued for years, but Lewis simply names it as pride. Pride is the great sin. Pride is prevalent in everyone’s lives, and if someone does not think it is there, it just proves that it most definitely is there.

Augustine’s conception of the sin in The Confessions is vastly different from today’s version of sin. In the modern world, Christian sin is mainly focused on the seven deadliest whereas Saint Augustine added more onto this list. The book mainly explores St. Augustine’s struggle for celibacy and converting himself to Christianity. Augustine also created a concept he termed as original sin. Original sin states that sin is inherently within all of us, we are all born evil and thus have to fight to be good.
Augustine dedicated his life to Christ after reading the epistles of Paul. Original sin was a disputed topic for the Church and had many sides to it. Augustine’s argument about original sin disagreed with Pelagius’, a philosopher in the church. He argued that sin has been passed down from the start when Adam and Eve first ate from the tree of knowledge.
Depending on the situation the sin could have a major effect or have an infinitesimal effect. Hawthorne exemplified many uses of sin in The Scarlet Letter which made the theme obvious. He showed how sin from one character could cause other character to obtain an even bigger conflict of their own. Society can get influenced
