In this paper, Pamela Hieronymi argues that trustworthiness is the most important reason that we trust in a person, not any other practical reasons about the importance of the act of trust itself, or any evidential reasons to trust in that person. She tries to show that we might trust for many reasons such as value or importance of trust, but these are secondary reasons that we trust someone; we trust a person because we find her/him trustworthy. When we talk about trust in this context, we focus on a three-place formulation i.e. ‘to trust someone to do something.’ Another important assumption is that trustworthiness and trusting action are distinct concepts. In some cases, we trust someone to do a particular thing, but we don’t think that person is trustworthy in general.
She was so crazy about John that she accused Elizabeth Proctor of witch craft. John’s life at home was cold, his wife had figured out about the affair. I realized John Proctor still loved his wife when he turned down Abagail after she flung herself at him again. He made it very clear to Abagail that he didn’t want to have an affair with her anymore. John Proctor noticed how big of a mistake he had made by cheating on his wife.
This mistake does not make him a flawed man because he was honest about it. In the play, after Elizabeth and his friends are arrested, in an effort to save his wife, John comes clean about his affair to the judges. Miller states, “I have known her, sir. I have known her” (Miller 1145). This quotation shows that John admits to his affair, which will ruin his reputation, but will hopefully save Elizabeth and his friends wives.
Johnathan Edward wants people, but also sinners especially to know this. Edwards wants us to know that when we don’t listen to God and turned away from and when we follow the Satan’s ways, we will go to Hell. “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” by Johnathan Edwards, wants us to imagine Hell and what the consequences are. Edwards wants us to know that men who are sinners are more likely to go to Hell, and to consider the danger that we are
Justin Luna Eng 90 September 25, 2015 Have you ever wondered why we lie? Is it to make ourselves look good or is it because it's too embarrassing to tell the truth? I believe everyone lies in one way or another and that not all lies are intentionally told to cause harm. In fact, lying sometimes might be the best approach when it comes to protecting our privacy and ourselves. The story I have chosen is Stephanie Ericsson’s The Ways We Lie, and it covers the different ways that we lie to each other and why we do it.
I think Flynn is guilty has molested Donald Muller because of his past and further evidence. Flynn is guilty of molesting him because he has tried to become closer and a better friend. Flynn feels very close to Donald to the point where he tells Flynn he doesn’t have any friends and that his father beats him, “ Flynn: Did you know Donald’s father beats him? Sister: Yes. Flynn: And might that not account for the odd behavior Sister James noticed in the boy?” ( Shanley 52).

John Proctor’s affair with Abigail Williams, causes his wife, Elizabeth Proctor, to lose faith in him. As Elizabeth’s suspicion increases, so does his irritation. John’s annoyance and Elizabeth’s evident grudge is displayed through their language and tone with one another. In addition, their actions suggest their relationship lacks components needed for a healthy relationship–communication, trust, respect, etc. Being in an unhealthy relationship may not be obvious to those who are in it, but through one’s words and actions to the other, others can tell right
Edna had an affair with another man. This man goes by the name Robert and she had more attraction to Robert than she did to her own husband, the father of her children. (45)If she was fed up with her marriage then there was such a thing as divorce. This was shamed upon in society during this time period but she as a woman was not a normal woman and if she was half the woman she claims to be she would , therefore her getting a divorce wouldn’t be surprising, so this proves how much of a pathetic person she was. Worst of all, Edna had an affair on the person she was having an affair with on her husband.
It is said that Elvis had many romances and affairs while even dating Priscilla. He has weird interests that did not involve actual sexual relations but would rather suck on women’s toes and was very fond of feet. It is said that Elvis had less need for a sexual partner rather than someone to baby him and give him attention. Elvis was more interested in young inexperienced girls rather than experienced actresses even though they were willing to do more with Elvis then the young girls. Many of the women who had been in a relationship with Elvis said that he would rather lie in bed and watch television all night then have a sexual relationship.
