Information among vulnerable adults and children’s safeguarding is considered private, distinctive and personal. Safeguarding is a regulation amongst the Care quality commission it means, protecting people’s health, wellbeing and human rights and enabling them to no longer be without harm, abuse and neglect. Its fundamental to high quality health and social care. Producing a policy for safeguarding vulnerable adults consists of, person centred approach the care and support that respects the person as an individual and promotes dignity, choice, independence and wellbeing. The types of information that is considered confidential are things such as, name, date of birth, age, sex and address, assessments or reports, bank details, incoming or outgoing personal correspondence and medical history or records and personal care issues. Other information relating to ethnic or racial origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, health or sexual lifestyle should also be considered confidential. Adult clients have the right to determine what information they consider personal and confidential. There is, however, no such thing as absolute confidentiality in the health and social care industry. Workers are required to keep notes on all interactions with patients and often to keep statistics about who is seen and what issues are addressed. It is never acceptable to disclose information to people who are not directly involved in the care of the service user, close friends and family may be aware if the service user wishes to be able to confide in them but the only other professionals that should know is the ones involved in that specific individual’s
