This quote by St. Paul reminds me of how I view my faith. St. Paul is saying that there are all types of gifts that people can have, but they all come through the Holy Spirit. There are all different ways to show one’s faith through service, but as long as it is service, people are serving the same Lord. The Holy Spirit works in very different ways in all people, depending on their background and their circumstances, but it is always the same Spirit. While the Holy Spirit may come in different forms, it always has the same intention: to guide with gifts. While the first thing I say about community service is that I “go every Sunday at seven a.m.,” it is so much more than that to me. I believe that in the moments when I do not want to go to community service and choose to go, I am exemplifying the gifts of right judgement and courage. Right judgement allows me to make the decision to honor my own commitment to service and continue to not only serve the children at the Italian Home, but also to serve God because he exists in every single one of the children. I show courage when I consider what the children at the Italian Home are going through and decide to go because I am a strong, brave, and courageous face for them to see. I believe that by using the gifts of the Holy Spirit, I am able to act as a servant of God, doing his work and being the best version of
