1.0 INTRODUCTION AND DEFINITION OF TERMS
Definition:
Conflict is friction or discord between two people or two groups due to different opinions, beliefs and actions.
Conflict resolution refers to the methods and processes in which two or more conflicting people or groups find a peaceful solution to a disagreement.
2.0 CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF CONFLICT
Causes of conflict.
1. Lack of information. Conflict can arise when one party believes that the other party lacks information.
2. Lack of resources. Conflict can arise between employees and their employers when employers do not provide the important resources required for them to do their work efficiently. Also it can occur when people in a society are not given necessary resources.

Conflict causes investors to refrain from going to a country due to fear of insecurity in that country. This means that the country does not gain financially.
3.0 TYPES OF CONFLICTS.
Intra personal conflict.
This type of conflict is described as “man against self” where an individual battles with his mind and habits. This type of conflict mostly occurs when an individual has to make a decision about something relating to him or herself.
Inter personal conflict.
This type of conflict is described as “man against man” where two or more individuals have a conflict.
Man against society
This is where an individual stands against institutions such as the government or the court to disagree with practices that are being practiced such as tax rates or unfair judgments, female genital mutilation, human trafficking, corruption or slavery.
Family conflict.
This occurs within a family setting, between a husband and wife, a parent and a child or between siblings. This type of conflict is also referred to as intra unit conflict.
Inter group conflict.
It refers to a conflict that takes place between two groups such as religious groups, political groups or ethnic groups. For example there have been religious conflicts between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria since the …show more content…
