In the essay by Turkle, she identifies people’s personal experience with phones calls and how they feel about the topic. Towards the beginning of her essay, she indicates why it matters when she claims that when we answer phone calls, we think of it as time consuming and requiring a considerable sense of commitment. Turkle claims, “Technologies live in complex ecologies. The meaning of any one depends on what other are available…Although we still use the phone to keep up with those closes to use, we use it less outside this circle. Not only do people say that a phone calls asks too much, they worry it will be received as demanding too” (p. 375). Turkle’s point is that we always have our phones by us, but not always for phone calls. Turkle uses her personal recourses and network to ask many people from classmates to lawyers to professors and their responses were quite similar.
Every time a new life-altering invention is introduced to the world, the device may be used for ill intentions, no matter the good intentions, the well-meant possibilities and the true purposes of said invention. The telephone is no exception. “Time and Distance Overcome” by Eula Biss from 2008 points out the twisted and revolting ways the telephone poles were being used, or rather misused, during the first few years of its existence.

In previous articles, I’ve written about the importance of connecting with teenagers long after they have been ‘officially’ yours. Perhaps they were in your charge when they were in middle school or junior high, and now, they are in senior high, they have graduated high school, or maybe have gone on to graduate college, get married and have children of their own. Regardless of any of those landmarks (as significant as they may be), still recognizing your kids from when they were early teenagers can be extremely empowering to them.

Upon arrival, Officer McClure and I Officer Butram spoke with Maranda Degennaro. Maranda had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. Maranda’s speech was unclear and she was visibly upset. Maranda was unable to stand without assistance. Maranda was arguing with her boyfriend Edward Beranek. Maranda yelled “fuck you” several times to a male standing next to Edward. I told Maranda she needed to calm down several times or she would be arrested for disorderly conduct. Maranda would calm down for about a minute, but start yelling at Edward and the male next to him. I asked Maranda what was going on with her and Edward and the other male. Maranda stated she was not leaving with Edward and the other male. As Maranda continued to yell a group of people stated to form outside of the bar.

Bobbi Kristina Brown like doing drugs and had a problem with them, but according to Radar Online, Ocr. 26, 2015, Bobbi Kristina spent the final weeks of her life heavily drugged up. In a transcript of a videotaped deposition by Danyela Bradley, a close friend to Bobbi Kristina, she claims Bobbi Kristina did marijuana, crack, and heroin. The transcript is not from the Nick Gordon and Bobbi Kristina estate civil suit, but instead it is part of an injury lawsuit filed by Russell J. Eckerman. On January 27, Russell claims he was injured in the car crash incident when Danyela’s jeep, driven by Bobbi Kristina, crashed into him. Danyela was a passenger in the jeep at the time and according to the lawsuit, Bobbi Kristina “was traveling at an imprudent speed for conditions and was following” Russells's vehicle “too closely.” Bobbi Kristina “improperly attempted to change lanes in order to avoid the vehicle stopping in front of her.”
