Plagiarism is something done so often in schools, as well as outside of schools in today's world. It is so easy to do with the internet now, and can be done in several different forms. However, when you do take someone else's work and use it as your own, there will be consequences. These consequences can be detrimental to the person in several different ways, as well as for several different reasons. Students are especially known for plagiarizing; their consequences may not be as serious as in other cases, but it does still harm them. Using plagiarism can harm students in a way to the point where the teacher does not trust them, as well as it can permanently put a dent in your track record. Having a good relationship requires trust; when that trust is broken, it causes several more issues in the future. Teachers are there to help you and want you to succeed, but when you break their trust it makes it extremely hard to have a good relationship with them. If you desire to be a good student and work hard, you can gain some of that trust back. However there will always be a missing piece due to the fact that you cheated. Relationships with your peers can also be affected. If they did the work themselves and did it to the best of their abilities, it shows them that you are just lazy. Your peers do not like it when they do all the work and find out that you just took the easy way out. It is important to have good relationships, and is it really worth it to jeopardize that just so you can do less work. You not only break the trust and relationship with your teachers and peers, but you are also only hurting yourself. If you just do the work without an outside source, you don’t have to risk you grade in a class. You also don’t have to have a fear of the consequences that come along with using plagiarism or other forms of cheating. It is so hard not to just go to internet and look up a topic nowadays; it seems so much simpler. But when you feel like you are coming up with your own material, and it really came from another person, it is not fair to the person who wrote the material in the first place. Nor to your peers who did all the work in the first place. Taking the initiative to do the work yourself and not copy off of some other place or person can be so rewarding. It not only allows you to avoid all of the consequences that come along with plagiarism, but it also enables your ability to learn and take in new
