CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
This chapter focuses on the background of the study in determining the perception towards constraints on participating as volunteer in sport event. The presentation of this chapter begins with the research background, followed by problem statement, research questions, research objectives, scope of study, significant of the study and lastly the definition of terms and concepts used in this study.

Through volunteer activity, it helps to enhance the quality of services, time management in minimize the uncertainty things that may occur by organizer. However, today’s lifestyles become a constraints factor that influence people from participation as volunteer in sport event.
Given numerous benefits on participation as volunteer, the research conducted on participating as volunteer often overlooks the limitation and constraints from participation. In this study, the perception towards constraints on participating as volunteer in sport event is determined by leisure constraints that affect them from participating as volunteer. 1.4.3 To investigate the relationship between leisure constraints and participating with volunteer in sport event.
1.4.4 To identify the differences in constraints on participating as volunteer in sport events based on gender and age.

1.5 Research Hypotheses
1.5.1 There is no significant relationship between leisure constraints and participating as volunteer in sport events.
1.5.2 There is no significant difference in constraints factor on participating as volunteer in sport events based on gender.
1.5.3 There is no significant difference in constraints factor on participating as volunteer in sport events based on age.

1.6 Significant of the Study
Perception is very common to a people as their initial intend or their initial opinion about the constraint participating as volunteer. Through this study, it will help people to know the difference constraints that face before participate and it can influence them by using motivation alternative to persuade their perception. This study also will be benefit on organizer. They can determine the main constraints that influence them from participating as volunteer. By doing this research, the organizer also can collect the information and improve their distribution methods using many alternatives about volunteer information to the public. Indirectly, the organizer can make effective strategies to attract people join the volunteer in sport
